7/5/08 Pirates (Maholm) at Brewers (Bush), 6:05 PM CDT

Considering it will be Negro League Throwback Night, I put a little something together:

Pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates (40-45):

Pitching for your Milwaukee Brewers (47-39):

I figured having an IGT would give us something to do while we wait for C.C. news. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Over/Under on the number of home runs J.J. Hardy hits tonight -- 2.5. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hopefully there's a big announcement made sometime during tonight's game. Imagine Brian Anderson pulling a Suzyn Waldman if a Sabathia trade is announced during the game -- "OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!"

Edit: Lineups...

2B Rickie Weeks

SS JJ Hardy

LF Ryan Braun

1B Prince Fielder

RF Corey Hart

CF Mike Cameron

3B Bill Hall

C Jason Kendall

P Dave Bush

Bill Hall's career numbers against Maholm? 9 for 15, 2 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 1 BB, 0 K http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I was hoping for a chance to catch the Cardinals tonight, but I'll take a blown save by the Cubbies anytime.

Maholm as been pitching well of late, I like the Brewers in the matchup, but Bush can't just throw it up there tonight.

Are we really right on the verge of this deal or are you guys just trying to entertain yourselves on a long holiday weekend?

A little of both. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Buster Olney and Ken Rosenthal have been saying that a lot of baseball insiders believe Sabathia has made his last start for the Indians. Doug Melvin is threatening to pull LaPorta off the table if the deal isn't done soon.

Edit: While it's nice the Cubs lost, would someone tell everybody who works for FSN Wisconsin to stop counting chickens before they've hatched -- especially when Dave Bush is starting this game?

Sabathia is going to parachute in from a plane and land on the pitchers mound. Ned will come out of the dugout with a Brewers uniform and C.C. with proceed to bail Dave Bush out of a major jam and then win the game with a home run.

That would be awesome, but I don't think anything could beat Kevin Mench's WWE-style entrance after the Carlos Lee trade. Cameramen literally followed him through the Miller Park hallways as he made his way into the clubhouse. The only thing missing was Jim Ross yelling "My God! That's Kevin Mench's music! Kevin Mench is here tonight!"

Last time I checked, Maholm didn't pitch for the Reds, so this can't be right.

God I love the Doorman

I sat behind the Doorman not too long ago. We get those seats a lot. One time last season, when Bonds and the Giants came to town, he would hold up a copy of "Game of Shadows" and a Sharpie everytime Bonds walked his way. It was hilarious...

Not sure which was uglier there, LaRoche's baserunning or Weeks' throw to the plate.
