Just wondering who you guys think will replace Lawrie at catcher in 2019? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

come on Homer any self respecting fan knows you can only project out ten years. It rather silly of you to be looking ahead to 2019 when so much will hinge on the 2018 free agent market.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Are we satirizing the satire now?

I'll go with a two-headed accelerated-growth test-tube clone built from DNA taken from Bill Schroeder and Ned Yost, both of whom will still be in their current positions, much to my chagrin. The clone, however, will be a thing to behold on a baseball field.

I would have guessed a clone of Branyan and Corey Hart.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

C'mon, you know that gritty battler catcher game-calling pitch-blocking instincts can't be trained. They're either sewn into your genetic code or they aren't. The Branyan / Hart clone will bein RF, having been moved there after an embarrassing one season trial as the regular at 3B. Its offense will suffer (rather coincidentally), but Schroeder will spend the whole season telling us how much of the clone's focus has been on learning a new defensive position.

How about a gene splicing of Branyan and Kendall. Think of the power hitting/catching monstrositie that would come out of those genes. Either that or a slap hitting 3B.

There is a boy in my daughter's 1st-grade class that seems to have a nice OPS+ in t-ball. I'm hoping that his arm will catch up with his offensive skills, but he does have a nice command of the game. Also puts a serious hurt on ice cream. I'd think that he is already on Jack Z's radar.

This kid is already learning how to catch against robot batters of the future. We need to be scouting him.

I'm not normally one to post how much something amused me without adding anything myself, but I had to stifle myself from laughing out loud at work on that one.

Well played, sir.

If he's that good now, he'll clearly be regressing to the mean by 2019.

1st grade? Small sample.
