The Red Sox just signed outfielder Brady Clark, per WEEI. That probably puts them out of the Bobby Kielty sweepstakes. Excitement! Clark, a righthanded hitter, might be able to draw a few walks and play all three outfield positions.
Good luck to Brady Clark.

Nice to see Brady catch on with another team. And a good one at that.

Yeah, the prospect of Brady Clark getting a WS ring is much more appealing than, say, Ronnie Belliard doing the same. Oh, wait...

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

good for brady, he deserves to be in a pennant race, even as a 5th outfielder. I too thought he would get a minor league contact and have to earn a spot on the major league roster. Guess there is always a spot for a guy who gives everything he's got all of the time.

You don't cheer him...you boo him, because Brewers fans are supposed to boo all their former players.

Nice dig.

For the record, I boo the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

He could pick up playoff shares from two teams. Had he stayed in Milwaukee, he'd have none.

He shouldn't complain, Milwaukee is who gave him his $3 million contract.

I really thought Brady would be settling for minor league contracts from here on out. Instead, he signs with a major AL contender.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. He did have to settle for a minor league deal from the Red Sox.

Here's the pertinent stuff from Brady's Rotoworld page:

Padres signed outfielder Brady Clark to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Portland.

It was assumed Clark would sign with San Diego immediately after he was cut by the Dodgers in June, but he sat out a month instead and then spent a week in Boston's minor league system. The Padres will probably call him up to act as a reserve in September.

Signed to a minor league contract last month, Brady Clark has reportedly left the Red Sox organization.

According to the Boston Herald, Clark was frustrated by the Red Sox's "pursuit of other outfield options, such as free agent Bobby Kielty." Had he not left the organization, it's possible that Boston would have called Clark up instead of Brandon Moss this week.
