Team 2 - Response from League RE: Officials, Rainouts

bball123h2

Team -

I received an email from the Assistant Supervisor regarding our complaints about the doubleheader mishap, as well as our time-shortened games with a certain umpire. The doubleheader is being rescheduled for a date to be announced. I feel that this is a good move, as it is not fair to Paulie's (who is in the title hunt) to lose out on 1st place due to a scheduling mishap.

However, because of the issues we have had this year, we have had our player fees waived for the 2009 season (team fees still apply). This represents $12-24 off of this season's price to play, and I appreciated her efforts to make it happen.

I'll announce the details about the makeup game when I receive them. I am pleased that, although we have been mistreated by officials, the league offices are doing their best to make it right.

As I said in the game thread. I would rather play the games. There is no playoff system, so being 3-4 as opposed to 1-4 at this point is pretty meaningless. It was nice of them to give us a few bucks, but I would trade all my bucks for longer games, a playoff system, & grounds and umps that care.

Quit posting videos of my hero. It gets me too jazzed up before gametime.

Never. I will post this video every time there is an injustice having to do with this Milwaukee County league. BTW, he was MY hero first. I have a man crush on Scott Walker.

Rightomac13[/b]]Too bad this isn't a county league. This is between you and the city of Milwaukee.

Yeah but the parks are run by the County and from what I can tell the league has at least attempted to make things right by waiving player fees...

based on where you play the games (wick, sijan, etc) the county parks have nothing to do with the league. the fields, league, and umpires are all hired and managed by Milwaukee Recreation, which is a division of MPS.

the next time you are at one of the fields, look at the signs by the street. they will say "Milwaukee Recreation" on them.

(BTW i work for the County Parks;))

I dont think Milwaukee Recreation is the problem. In speaking to the director, It's the groundskeepers and who schedules the groundskeepers. For the example of Dyer, the same groundskeepers that take care of Dyer, also have to take care of 7 other parks that given day. So, if they line and rake Dyer at 8am, and it rains at 10am and stops raining at Noon, the groundskeepers refuse to go back to Dyer to take care of the field, because they have 7 other fields to take care of that day. It's lazy and mismanaged.
