6/23/08 Brewers (Sheets) at Braves (Reyes): 6:00 PM CDT

Sorry if I'm jumping the gun woogie.

 

I just wanted to say that for a June game, this one is pretty close to a must win in my eyes. The Brewers have a huge 10-game road trip where they need to win 5 or hopefully 6 games to keep pace with the Cardinals and Cubs. I know the Cardinals have a tough stretch coming up, but they did almost just sweep Boston... Meanwhile the Brewers have been hot lately, and I think they need to carry that over on the road to make a big statement before the All-Star break.

 

In order for a 5 or 6 game road trip to become a reality, the Brewers need to get off to a good/decent start in Atlanta - Especially with Sheets on the mound.

 

We cant afford to lose games with Sheets on the mound if we hope to have a successful road trip.

You might want to wait a little longer in the future for Woogie to get his IGT graphics up... there's still 5.5 hours to go before game time.

Its nice having Benny on the mound tonight to start the road trip. Hopefully he can get us a win and start this trip off right.

 

I agree with everyone though, this next stretch of games is pretty crucial if we want to keep pace with the Cards/Cubs.

Headed out in a few minutes for this one. Taking my two boys, one will be in Brewers gear, the other had been eaten by the braves bug. Last time I saw Sheets pitch in Atlanta we have him a 6 run lead to work with......I wouldnt mind seeing the same thing tonight.

The Braves have the best home record of anyone in the NL not named the Chicago Cubs (27-12). This series is definitely not going to be easy...hopefully Sheets and the Brewers can get a win to start off the series so we're not still hoping for one on Wednesday.

I think the crucial games are the 10 home games before the all-star break where they should go 8-2 with the teams coming in and then SF right after the break. If they can hold serve (4-5 wins) on this road trip they set themselves up to be tied with the Cubs when they get them at the end of July.

I really want to go and give my (soon to be) 20-month old daughter her first baseball experience, but two night games and a day game during the week don't really work too well for the little one. And I might be out of the country for the next series in Atlanta. Well, at least I'll be able to watch them on TV here in Atlanta.

If you eliminate the one inning from the Dodger game, Ben has an ERA of about 2.20. That is pretty incredible. I still haven't figured how that inning could have possibly happened. I have a good feeling about tonight especially if Chipper isn't back yet

Wow, I didn't realize that Prince was only 4 HR away from 100 already. Interesting stat that Fielder and Francoeur are 1-2 on the list of most homers by a player under the age of 25 on the pregame show...Prince has 96, Francoeur has 70.
