Are we better off with Counsell this year?

Let's not get carried away by a guy with 14 RBI and a .302 SP in 248 AB's. I give him credit for seeing that Wuertz was not throwing strikes with his best pitch (Hart swung at 3 straight balls), but heck, I saw that from my couch.

 

Counsell is a nice utility player. He's smart, knows his limitations, will take a walk, and plays very solid defense. But he hit .155 with RISP (9 for 58) and that cost the team more than one walk helped it in the long run.

 

Don't get me wrong, he does contribute by getting on base and he's a class guy. But when he's hitting 7th as he often did, you need to produce some runs.
