I'm just glad the Tigers won it the right way:

with a three run bomb. No stolen bases, no bunts, just bombs, pitching, and defense. Hat's off. Nothing cheap, nothing controversial. The A's, as fas as I'm concerned, weren't very good, and they didn't play very good. You need offense to win in October, and they don't have any.

I don't think there is a Tiger fan alive that regrets they paid Magglio Ordonez a boatload of money.

And that's still not a valid defense of overspending by a ton to get a player. They could have signed Jermaine Dye that same offseason for way less money and gotten a bigger return.

Just because a guy plays alright doesn't mean there isn't another guy who could have done the same thing for less.

yeah, but at least the Eckstein love isn't just Daron Sutton, like so many people claim. I mean, even Luis Gonzalez was giving the guy props as a player.

So, I see all STL has to do is win one on the road, and they get two chances.

I know it's only the NLCS, but that sounds a lot like the last postseason series I really, really, really cared about.

Go Mets. Or more specifically, go Tigers starting Saturday.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Please, somebody just end this series. This has been the most unexciting, uninspiring playoff series I've seen in ages.

Agreed. Hopefully, we'll see an exciting, inspiring Game Seven because there's been barely any drama this postseason.

My prediction:

The Mets will unveil a surgically altered Steve Trachsel with Pedro Martinez's arm and El Duque's thighs. This "Trachsel-stein" will strike out an amazing 26 batters in a row, until his main weakness, the mind of Steve Trachsel surrenders a 9th inning homer to So Taguchi. Suppan and the Cards bullpen will complete the shutout and win 1-0.

It is highly possible this will happen.
