2006 World Series(Cards, Tigers) Thread

Wow, Tigers are on the verge of imploding here.

...but they held it together. That was kind of Breweresque.

Good thing for FOX, as I would have stopped watching the WS had St. Louis come back. (And I know FOX is quaking in its shoes to hear that.)

A lot of StL fans think TLR gave his good buddy Leyland quite a break by not having Rogers formally inspected on the mound. I am really baffled about it. TLR has never been shy about accusing ppl of cheating and having bats/gloves/hats etc inspected. Seems he rolled over for his buddy.

It would have been huge to have the bullpen in the game from the second inning on for Detroit and have KR lost for his future start.

When I first turned on the game (a bit late) and heard "pine tar" I frankly assumed Tony had already complained.

Ugh. 3-1 STL.

Cards are gonna win this Series and that's not cool with me.

To make it worse, Eckstein gets player of the game.

Double-ugh.

Allright! Time to start the offseason and Milwaukee's road to the 2007 World Series.

I'm with Peavey on this.

1957: World Series championship in Milwaukee.

1982 (25 years later): AL championship in Milwaukee.

Add another 25 years and you have 2007.

The Cards didn't have a good record but when healthy they are a good team. If the Brewers ever win a world series I doubt anyone here will complain about the circumstances.

It's always a good series when the right team wins. In fact the entire playoffs were good considering only the As/Twins went the wrong way for me. Didn't care about the Dodgers/Mets as long as the Cards beat the winner. Congrats to RedBird Ray.
