I can't believe you started a game thread for this.

Why not just bring up the archived thread and post in that?

For the "Classic" games, okay, I can understand.

I'm still at work. Is this game on Directv or not? I saw casey called DTV about it.

There's no-go so far with DirecTV. I'm about to call them again.

I think the new thread is fine for this. It'll set the tone for the rest of the games.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

This is great....and...it kind of reminds me...I think I'm going to miss Sutton...Yeeeee-hawww!!! It's also interesting to remember that they were "following" the Astros/Braves game during this one as well, little did we know at the time the Cardinals would go on to win the series and really not have to worry about the Astros...neat stuff, and I'm loving the limited/no commercials...

Repost of how to contact DirecTV about this (from Classic games thread in Major League forum).....
  1. Call 1-800-DIRECTV.
  2. Fumble through the voice system until they let you press 0 to talk to someone.
  3. Explain that there is a series of classic Milwaukee Brewers games airing over the course of the winter, beginning tonight and extending through March. (hawing has a complete list of dates several posts below this one. Add in that missing FSN North WI programming?stuff that isn't live games?is a general issue.)
  4. Ask for a way to call back and follow up.

Very enjoyable broadcast.

Tony Gwynn Jr. does look wonderful in CF...let's hope he can hit enough in AAA to get at least a platoon job somewhere in '08.

The idea of Carlos V being our 6th starter to begin '07 is enough to make me drool. Someone hurt, ineffective, you say? Bring up the guy who was dominating on 10/1, and solid his entire rookie campaign.

listening to daron you can tell he wasn't coming back

I noticed that. I turned on the TV around 7:30 and one of the first things I heard him say was something like "I'll be seeing him in Arizona." OK, Daron, I guess you will.

It was very nice to see a 'real' game at this time of year, even if it had to include STL success. I'm ready for Thursday night, featuring the Miracle of the Pink Bat.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I wasn't able to see the game live, but I did DVR it and watch a few segments when I got home. As much as I love the Brewers, I just couldn't get into it. I ended up skipping through most of it. There was nothing at stake for the Brewers, and there were no memorable moments either (i.e. like a dramatic walkoff HR or something). Watching the Cardinals stumble into the postseason with their 79th loss didn't make for great TV either. The Brewers pretty much put the game out of hand in the first inning and there wasn't much suspense. Overall, I just think it was really poor choice to air this particular game. I really don't know what they were thinking.

I think I am looking more forward to the Bill Hall pink-bat walkoff game and also the Prince and Rickie HR game. I would much rather watch broadcasts from Miller Park too. It's more fun seeing the home fans having fun in a park where you have more memories and attachment to.

Anyway, I hope you all at least enjoyed the broadcast. Sorry if I sound like a downer.

I agree that this was a hard game to get into. It was fun watching the first inning and listening to the groans of the Cardinals fans. As much as I love listening to the home fans cheer at Miller Park, nothing beats crushing an opponent and listening to the loud boooos from the opposing fans.

I'm excited for some of the other games on the list, although I would have changed many of the earlier selections.

I didn't see the game, but what AJAY and obsessed are saying makes sense. It would have made sense to kick the series off with a biggie from the past.
