Need Help With New York Ballpark Trip Info!

I was just in NY a couple of weeks ago, and we caught a Mets game out at Shea. Definitely stay in Manhattan, even though it is a bit more expensive. We stayed at the Wellington just south of Central Park, and it was only about $200 a night, plus it's right next to a subway stop. I will reiterate, the subway is the way to go, as you can get off right next to the park in both cases, and in most cases it's not THAT crowded anyway. The great thing about staying in Manhattan is that you can also walk to any of the touristy things you might want to see when you are not at a game.

i stayed at the wellington last spring and its in a great location. its the hotel from the borat movie. i suggest just using the name your own price part on priceline to get your hotel.
