Ned: Everyone in the bullpen is available. Except Torres and Mota. Maybe not Mota but probably Mota in the eighth. Unless it's the eighth. Dillard is available and so is Villy. Villy had that Snickers bar on his day off so we can slide him until...TAVAREZ! I totally forgot we had him. He has been kinda bad but an inning wasted is an inning earned. Yes.
Maybe Yost has learned from his mistakes and isn't going to use Villanueva frequently.

well the good news is that i decided to start Oswalt for my fantasy team so at least I can get something out of this disaster. I much rather would have gotten a W, but Ned apparently had other ideas.

Villanueva, without a doubt. He's been rock solid, and since the pitcher's spot had just cleared, he could give multiple innings. Tavarez should be the last arm out of the bullpen.

Why spend one pitcher when you can spend 2 or 3? You get more for your money that way.

Maybe. Except that it is the perfect Villy moment. Two days off in four games and he had been a starter. I think he's stretched out and capable. Oh, and he is better than Julian Tavarez.

Sarcasm finally detected...SORRY GIF..

Don't get me wrong, I can come up with several arguments for Ned's dismissal as well. I believe he has been given ample time with this organization to take this team to the next level. I just find it interestingly ironic that blame is on the manager's shoulders for every loss. The guy isn't perfect by any means, but he certainly isn't as braindead as some people try to make him out to be as manager.

Whoever did that last year needs to re-create the color coded/warning system bullpen chart for Ned again this season.

Another solid start for McClung...a hanging curve to Berkman was his only bad pitch all-night. This team's defense is a comedy of errors on the road.

If it was sarcasm it would be in blue. Villy got worn out in the pen last year despite the fact that he was only used on back to back days four times. Simply put, Villanueva cannot be used as often as a typical reliever. Yost taking it easy on Villy is wise if he wants him to be effective later in the season.

OK Gif.. I thought you were being sarcastic about not leaving in Villy after his perfect 10 pitch inning the other day. My bad. I don't think that should Still be a problem. He is being groomed to be a starter and it hasn't gone to well. Does that mean he shouldn't pitch when he is available? He is not worn out.

I agree that arguing against the result of a move is silly. I complained about the bean ball war, Hernan AB and Tavares being called in BEFORE the results of those moves, however. I complained about them because I thought they were the wrong moves, IMO, irrespective of their outcome.

Does Yost get 100% of the loss tonight? Of course not. He only gets a small percentage of it. But when he gets a small percentage of a loss 50 times in a year, it adds up pretty quick.

That ball Cameron misplayed was just awful. How does a gold glove CF not make that play. I guess I can't bash Yost for not putting him in for Kapler in Colorado.

Unless you think that great defenders never make mistakes, this comment makes little sense.

I don't think it's an experiment. I think he's arguably our best leadoff hitter and clearly our best without Weeks here. I do prefer Weeks there fyi. The way Prince continues to swing and miss at the high fastball, is Hart really protecting Fielder enough batting fifth that we need to bat him there as opposed to leading off?

I don't see how you can call him our best leadoff hitter when throughout his entire career save a few games he has been a middle of the order RBI guy. I don't see how that translates to being a leadoff hitter except that he has speed.

Furthermore, we just moved our best hitter with RISP to the leadoff spot. Everyone complained about the decision to have Corey bunt on Sunday, but as a leadoff hitter, he should be bunting frequently in order to get on base.

Also, what's up with Fielder/Branyan batting back to back? That's just asking for a lefty specialist.

Basically, I don't see what's wrong with Dillon/Counsell leading off. Hart is a viable candidate, yes, but do we really want to count on Counsell/Kendall to get on in front of our best RBI guy, or do we want Braun and Fielder?
