Whenever I hear the name Kevin, I always think of this character from South Park and Chef stopping mid-sentence to ask "Just what the hell are you supposed to be?"

So much for my picture.

I'll take the rain simply because I rent and don't have to deal with flooding. (Nothing in the basement and I don't have to shovel) Can you imagine how much snow this would have been? 10 inches of rain becomes how many feet of snow?

When you factor in the hypotenuse of the trapezoid multiplied by 10, and subtract 29453, adding 4352657, and divided by 2, you get 356 feet of snow for 10 inches of rain.

I'd rather have all this rain. Everyone is affected by the snow. 10 inches of rain doesn't shut things down, but 6 inches of snow does. The rain doesn't stay on every street until (if you're lucky) the plows come by. And, after the rain, I don't have to bundle up...I still get to wear shorts.

I'll speak up for the snow, strictly because you can usually avoid the worst of a snowstorm merely by staying indoors.

If your basement floods in a big rain, then it's in your house and you have a mess to deal with. Plus snowstorms aren't generally accompanied by lightning (I acknowledge the exception of thundersnow) or tornadoes.

This is not to say I would have rooted for the snow equivalent of 7-10 inches of rain over the course of a day and a half.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Lake Delton has to be the worst situation so far. That is going to kill that community.

Our neighborhood had many flooded basements but we made it out okay. Just a tiny trickle.

Overall though, that is the quickest I have ever seen rain accumulate. 10 inches in just a few hours !?

That is so sad and unbelievable. I was reading about it and I'm thinking, there's no way, and I see the pictures and read more, and that is unbelievable. Stunning.

How long did your Texas transformation take, craigharmann... 7 months? "Ya'll"? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

bbhall, your posts made my eyes water! Funny stuff.

I hope everything is getting sorted out at this point... hope no one suffered anything worse than some material damage. My thoughts are with you.

Apparently my sister in Greendale has a foot and a half of water in her basement at the moment. Not a happy camper. I don't blame her.

That said, I have to work outside the next few days, and this is what I have to look forward to:

Actually about 5 minutes. Or as soon as I decided I was no longer going to live in Wisconsin. I don't really have an accent to begin with, but haven't really picked up a Texas one yet. And I usually use y'all here and there.

Anyone else have pictures? This is the best I can do. Oshkosh wasn't too terribly bad, but our drainage system in our parking lot is stupid and a large portion of the parking lot is basically a big valley.

This was right after my roommate and I pushed his Honda Del Sol out of his parking spot which was next to the visitor spot (right in the middle). If you've ever seen a Honda Del Sol, you can probably see that it was mostly submerged. After hearing all the other stories, I can't really complain, though.

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.

my cousin in Minnesota just sent me some video from our college alma mater in Iowa. Flooding is pretty bad there, too. The baseball and softball fields are completely underwater (up to the dugout roofs, so a good 10-ft deep) and the water on the soccer fields comes up nearly to the crossbars on the goals!

At times like these, I'm glad that I live in the desert. But we've got our own problems at times, too.

I was part of a 200-mile relay run that started Friday 2 pm in Madison and finished in Chicago 4 pm the next day and we didn't see a drop of rain. We're still amazed at our good fourtune.

My aunt and uncle live in Greenfield, but were up North for the weekend. They have a driveway that leads downhill to the garage...and their brand new Prius is completely submerged. Flooding in the basement was so bad that the washer actually ended up on top of the dryer.
