Man, Randy Johnson is still good. Cameron is 2-27 with 16 K's against Johnson in his career, that's just funny.

Small sample size or not, sounds like a good night to give Kapler a start, even thou he hasn't faired much better either, but his sample size is much smaller. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Anyway, how about that pitching matchup tonight? A future HOFer against, well, Seth McClung.

Yeah. While part of me knows that games aren't played on paper (as we've seen a few times this season already), the rest of me is struggling to be hopeful.

Tonight's game is our fifth attended since last Tuesday. This is an astounding pace, given our distance from Milwaukee. (It helps considerably that the Brewers are 4-0 in games we've attended this homestand.) Seth & Co, I'm only asking that you not make us feel like this trip is a waste of time. Thanks!

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Way to be a trooper, fellow Madisonian. I'll be there tonight as well to see the most amusing pitching matchup so far this season. The Brewers are 2-3 with me in attendance, but 2-0 at Miller Park. Keep the winning streak going!

Yeah, I know Johnson isn't what he once was, and that McClung hasn't been nearly as bad as expected as a starter, but my first reaction to seeing the thread title today was to literally laugh out loud.

10-4 since the Boston debacle, let's make it 11-4 and win our third straight series tonight.

wow cameron 2-27 with 16K's against the Big Unit

Too bad his off day was Sunday and not tonight.

oops the above fact was already pointed out, but maybe it deserved to be pointed out more than oncehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Hopefully the offense comes alive, and McClung keeps us in the game

Looks like the Brewers are going to be witnesses to history again tonight...with one strikeout, Randy Johnson will move past Roger Clemens to gain sole possession of the #2 spot on the all-time strikeouts list. If he gets the win, it'll be career win #289.

The MJS today has the Brewers projected record at 84-79. Do they know about a one game playoff in the future? Otherwise, it's just bad editing as usual.

The interesting part of the MJS Game Report is they are only 2 games behind last year's hot start. Amazing considering the have had 2 meltdowns in the pen (Turnbow, Gagne), 2 significant pitching injuries (Gallardo, Riske), and 25 game suspension (Cameron) and 6 starters playing below expectations (Weeks, Cameron, Fielder, Hart, Hardy, Hall). I put Fielder and Hart on the list because they have had a lack of power so far but that looks to be changing.

Not to mention that they lived on the road before this homestand and had an interleague series against the world champs.

Randy Johnson is no longer Randy Johnson, but he's still making left handed hitters that face him look like roadkill. This year he faced a left handed hitter 25 times for the line against of:

.091 .185 .227 .412
That's scary. Over 2005-2007 it's been
.188 .249 .267 .516
Keep in mind only top LHer unsually get to face him.

It wouldn't be a bad idea, but I doubt Yost does it.

During his postgame interview last night, he said Prince likes hitting left handers better than right handers.

I think 5 of his 9 home runs this year are against lefties. He also has a very respectable career OPS against lefties of .821. Obviously most of those at bats aren't against one of the best LHP of all time, though http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif. I guess I just don't really think Joe Dillon is too much of an upgrade over Prince to make a difference for one game.

you forget that while Prince is only hitting 202 against lefties, Ned said last that night that "he hits them really well". I don't see a good option to replace Prince for the day. 3TO can play first but hes left handed. Maybe Dillon but I don't see him doing better against the big unit than prince.

so hall's intro and first at bat will be interesting, to say the least.

the expected thing is a smattering of boos... that will probably be a given.

regardless of my thoughts on the press today - not good - i would be surprised/impressed if the crowd got behind billy - during this hot streak - and gave him a loud, supportive cheer sending a message that we appreciate him and what he brings to this team.

chances of that?

between that situation and johnson's record and seth on the hill for us it should be a fine game to watch with the potential for some drama from the get-go! and to think two weeks ago i was considering giving up the brewers for knitting.
