That is, the 3 outcomes of an at bat determined entirely by the pitcher and batter. Specifically, this refers to a home run, strikeout, or walk. Can't say I know much about Branyan's walk totals, but he certainly knew how to crush one or whiff and not much in between...hence the nickname.
