Draft Pick Discussion, Rounds 21-50

I had the chance to watch Eric Decker on Saturday play WR for the Golden Gophers, and I picked a good game to tune in. He caught 13 balls for 190 yards. As some of his interviews indicate above, he's a very tough WR, ideally made for a slot position similar to Anthony Gonzalez of the Colts. I didn't see him ranked on a couple of NFL draft sites I checked, although that doesn't mean much this time of year, but I am curious about his future as a professional football player. I was pretty excited when the Brewers drafted him because he is a true sleeper in baseball, and displayed pretty good skills for Minnesota despite taking a year off, and still showed that he clearly is dedicated to the sport by playing this summer.

The Brewers drafting him was more of a gesture of goodwill, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them draft him again next June, I'm guessing a lot higher than the 39th round.

Minnesota WR Eric Decker is having a huge season as the Gophers most dynamic player, leading D1 in receiving and receiving yards, while being 3rd in yards/game and 4th in receptions/game.

It is going to be very interesting to follow his career. He is only in his junior year of eligibility, and may choose to stick around for another year at Minnesota if he doesn't project to go very high in the NFL draft (he isn't a burner, which likely will effect his draft status). If he played at Notre Dame, his exploits might be getting more attention right now.
