Jay Bruce called up

A plug here for a southeast Wisconsin guy, Terry Reynolds, who went to school with me back in the day. After 25 years in the Dodger organization he is with Cincinnati in his fifth season now . This blurb, in parts, from the Cincinnati Post a year and a half ago:

"Reynolds was named the Reds' director of player development..." (Dec 2006)

and

"Reynolds was hired by Dan O'Brien in 2004 as the director of amateur scouting and was responsible for the Reds' 2004 and 2005 drafts, which netted the organization's top two prospects, pitcher Homer Bailey in 2004 and outfielder Jay Bruce the next season."

Couple of good early returns on those two drafts I would say!

...and a stolen base. I knew I should've started him for Matsui who went 0-5. Dumb!

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

The 2005 draft was absolutely sick

Big time, gonna go down as one of the best draft classes in the history of MLB.

1. Justin Upton 2. Alex Gordan 3. Jeff Clement 4. Ryan Zimmerman 5. Ryan Braun 7. Troy Tulowitzki 12. Jay Bruce 23. Jacoby Ellsbury 25. Matt Garza 42. Clay Buchholz

Not to mention some others who have not made it to the bigs yet who are probably gonna be good.

Interesting that Colby Rasmus has been scuffling at AAA -- .220/.320/.354. But that seems to be the exception rather than the rule with this bunch.

Well he already has 4 walks in 2 games in the majors. Maybe he rarely walked in the minors because he knew he would just mash everyone.

That's unacceptable. He should be swinging away and trying to drive in runs!

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.

Just want to note that, during Upton's AB to lead off the 4th, Rock & BA were talking about this exact topic. Clearly zzzman knows baseball a heckuva lot better than he plays softball. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
