Is Randy Wolf a realistic type player?

If we are going to trade for someone without givng up the entire farm I thinkI'd rather the Brewers look at Wolf over Maddux at this point. He makes $4,750,000 this season so he'd be affordable. He's a free agent after this so he could possibly bring us a draft pick next year and wouldn't hinder the payroll in the future. He's left handed and has had some decent years but struggled the last couple with injuries. This year he has been pretty average but at this point average would be an upgrade. The Padres are one of the few teams that may sell early and they want speed and offense so Gwynn and something might get him. All in all I'd sya this is the type of player the Brewers would be interested in. Maddux would be a nice story and a name that Wolf isn't but I think at this point in their respective careers I'd rather the younger left handed guy.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I was going to suggest Wolf a week or two ago. I think he makes a lot of sense. Like you said, he wouldn't need to give up a huge package to get him. Maybe a couple high ceiling A ball players.

Gord Ash mentioned during the pregame on 620 that the Padres have already said they're ready to sell off players not in their long-term future, which is very rare.

Once he was over a year removed from his arm injury, Wolf has K'd about 8.2/9 IP. He would fit in between Suppan and Parra very well.
