4/8/07 Cubs (Miller) @ Brewers (Capuano) as if it mattered

Yea. It's game three of the set. It's a religious day so maybe the evil Cubs will lose. I doubt it though.

Here's the pitching match up until the Brewers start getting shelled again.

Chris Capuano (L) 0-0 ERA 540,000

Wade Miller 0-0 No ERA at all and won't get one today.

Here's a little bit about the Brewers lineup because what ever they run out there won't work anyhow. Brewer bats must be sleeping. Shh!

Weeks: Just call him Richie. It doesn't matter anyway. Not like he's gonna hear you with all that wind whipping around his bat.

Hardy: A Hardy-Har-Har. Hit a homer that didn't help.

Fielder: Big time power. Watch out. Carlos Zambrano a Cub Pitcher hitting in the 9 spot, has as many RBI for the series as Princess Fielder. P.F. Flyer? NOT! He's #3 on the K list with 8.

Hall: Or should I say E-8? Whatever. Maybe he needs to bring back the pink bat. Regular ones don't seem to be working.

Estrada: Drives a cool motorcycle and is way cooler than the guy that plays John Baker his partner.

JenKins: Somehow not leading the universe in strikeouts on pitches that are actually behind him. It's kind of nice for him in one key area of offense; The walk back to the dugout is short and he does not waste much energy.

Hart: He is 23 feet tall. His batting average is 27 points lower than his weight.

Counsell/Graffanino/Bernie Brewer: We just got one game closer to seeing Ryan Braun over there. Counsell's daddy used to work for the Brewers. That's why he is our third baseman. He looks funny at the plate. Graffanino-nino-beano-fo-fee-no! Nee-No! that was fun.

These guys could not hit water if they fell out of a boat. (Tommy Lasorda-ish)

I've seen fewer errors in a T-ball game.

Maybe things are too confusing for them with signals from the coaches. Perhaps the team could all get cell phones and then the coaches could text them. "Ok Corey. Good job. Now just a bit to your left. Yeah, good job! Can you catch the ball Corey?

"Geoff! Geoffery! Put down that dirt and pay attention!"

"Bill! Bill Hall you better listen to me! Stop dancing, put your hat back on, find your glove and get ready!"

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

I nominate this, Sir, as post of the year! Oh yeah there's time left for other posts. Just not as insightful and funny. Excellent Jamie!

Too bad Jeff Suppan isn't pitching. With Miller and Suppan on the mound at Miller Park there could have been a black hole created in the universe with two of the most notorious Brewer Killers facing off.

It is too early in the season to get swept by the Cubs. No sweeping Cubs, @#%$ is a dirty word. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

At least St. Louis is 1-4.

If we can salvage a W today, this series won't be a complete failure. I'm guessing Miller and maybe Double G (Gabe Gross) get starts today.

Ahh, brewerjamie15 smack talk. What a balm for my wounded Brewer spirit. Thanks.

(Of course, if it works as intended, you're smack talkin' for the rest of the season, Jamie.)

Woogie, where did you get that picture of Wade Miller? It looks like he was posing in a meeting room.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Capuano is 7-2 with a 3.75 ERA in 10 career starts against the Cubs, including a 3-0 mark with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 26 innings last season.

Last season, Capuano threw a five-hit shutout against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on April 30 and a six-hit shutout on July 6 at Miller Park. He also scattered seven hits in eight scoreless innings at Wrigley Field on June 26.

Here's to Cappy doin' his thang with some Easter swang...

Hey Woogie, due to some technical delays, it wasn't able to be posted until this morning, but I wrote my first (of many) series previews that will be posted prior to the first game of the set all season long. Could you link to it, along with the other stuff under "Game Previews". While you all can pretty much skip ahead to game three today, I did find a number that I haven't seen anywhere else when it comes to Miller at Miller. I think there are some other nuggets in there as well. Enjoy, and look for this feature regularly now on brewerfan.net.

I see Miller throwing some big ol' fat ones today.

Brewers 8 Cubs 4

Jenkins 3 for 4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI

Fielder 2 for 3, HR, 2 R, 1 RBI, 2 BB

Capuano 7 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 5 K, 1 BB

The only two games that I've tried to predict have resulted in Brewer victories, so here's to good karma!

I submit that we chip in and buy Billy a pink glove.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Not a pretty looking lineup for the Brewers today, let's hope the backups are able to peform better than some of the regulars.

Rickie Weeks 2B

Craig Counsell, 3B

J.J. Hardy SS

Prince Fielder 1B

Geoff Jenkins LF

Gabe Gross RF

Damian Miller C

Tony Gwynn CF

Chris Capuano P

Miller looks like a total badass in his picture.

I was going to say the same thing. That might be the coolest press photo I have seen of a player.

Oh, and Gross is in the lineup! I need to go through my town and take down all the missing person posters I stuck on all the telephone poles.

hmmm, odd lineup. I guess Hardy has been our best hitter so far. If these are today's starters, I'd rather see:

CF Gwynn

SS Hardy

LF Jenkins

1B Fielder

2B Weeks

RF Gross

C Miller

3B Counsell

P Capuano

Why not give Weeks some chances lower in the lineup? The more I see Rickie leading off, the more I want him to not be doing so.

Reading a post like jamie's only shows me that people on this board do not think baseball realistically and go from a complete high to jumping off the bridge from series to series.

We are 2-3 and many of the posts and topics center around the universe crumbling and this team may never be back. I wish these people would just go away so people can actually talk baseball. There will be a time when we win 4-5 straight and these same people will be leading the charge and talking playoffs and blah blah. Get a hold of yourselves people and realize we faced some good pitching and some pretty good teams here.

Never thought we could be 5 games in and read such garbage about the team already. Just unbelievable really. If a baseball game gets you that upset maybe you should find another hobby.
