Alcides Escobar Baseball America's Prospect of the Day

A nice big photo of Escobar graces BA's Prospects page because he got named the Southern League Prospect of the Day yesterday:

Huntsville (Brewers) third baseman Mat Gamel and right fielder Matt LaPorta have picked apart Southern League pitchers. Last night Huntsville shortstop Alcides Escobar got in on the action, going 4-for-5 at the plate and turning two double plays in the field. There are still plenty of questions about Escobar's bat-he's now hitting .263/.292/.342-but the 21-year-old shortstop's performance stood out yesterday.

Escobar remains hot Monday, going 3-5 with a HR. Gillepsie also homered. Gamel was only 1-4. Laporta was 1-1 with two runs scored.
