trouble enabling NetBIOS

I am having some file sharing issues on a windows network (I have XP). The only computer that is seen on the workgroup is mine. When ipconfig /all is done, it shows NetBIOS as being disabled. So I went to the network properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > General > Advanced > WINS > Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

 

After doing this, the ipconfig /all was done again and it showed that NetBIOS was still disabled even though I manually enabled it.

 

Just for your reference, I turned off my firewall and also tried these comands in cmd, but it still didn't work:

  • netsh winsock reset
  • netsh firewall reset

Any suggestions would be great!
