Gamel+ for Lincecum?

I'm pretty sure Escobar and Iribarren are some "spare parts" the Giants would like to have in their organization right about now. I don't think it's that unlikely at all for them to move Sanchez or Cain for the right combination of position player prospects. Obviously the price tag goes up if were talking Lincecum and one of that Matt's would need to be involved(if it's only prospects). It still makes too much sense to me. Both teams would be dealing some of their strength to improve their weakness. It could be one of those everybody wins type deals.

Sure, but if the Giants openly put any of those pitchers on the block, they'd find a much better offer elsewhere.

Its just that if I'm the owner of the Giants no ay do I let Sabean trade away Linecum-he's either the future of the guy that brings talent for the future while Sabean definitely isn't the future.

Why isn't Sabean the future? He's been there since the mid 90's I believe, and was the GM while the team was in contention year in and year out, going to the playoffs nearly every year.

I know it's the "cool" joke on this board to mock Sabean, but he's been a pretty good GM for the most part. Certainly the Giants are down right now, and the Barry Zito deal looks like an albatross over their necks right now, but I have to think the Giants ownership is going to look at a little more than right now when evaluating Sabean. Plus, the team's not as far away as people seem to think. Starting pitching-Check. They'll pick high in the draft, get a couple impact players(possible a guy like Alverez), they've got Villalona on his way, Rowand, a couple nice OF'ers, and Molina. They've got the money to sign players. Sign a guy like Renteria and Texiera and they're a competitive team very shortly.

That team's not "as bad" and as far away as people on this forum seem to think.

Where are people getting this non-sense rumor about Lincecum being available because the Giants said so? I am just curious as why a GM(Saban) would say this and is this from some beat writer? Show me the link or article and I might buy the bridge.

So despite not having a clue as to the specifics of the proposed trade between the Jays and the Giants, you have no problem calling it non-sense?

In the future before you essentially call people out for lying by calling what's pretty much common knowledge "non-sense" check into it first. It's understandable to not be informed on a topic. It's not understandable to be critical about that topic that you're uninformed about.

It's actually pretty easy to find out by the way. Google it. Dozens of articles show up. I guess they COULD all be non-sense though.
