Recurring dreams

gypcasino
I also have the school dream. And I'll have another variation of it, though less so these days. It's either I've been cast in a play (I used to be an actress) and then I miss rehearsals so I haven't memorized my lines and it's opening night or after a play is over, we're all brought together to do one more performance and we're supposed to remember our lines from months ago.

Mark me down as the third who has the tornado dream. In mine, I often see several tornadoes in the distance, and wake up right when it will hit me. I did have one the other night where the tornado did hit, but I didn't actually see the tornado.

Count me in the tornado dream club. My tornado dreams are very vivid. In my dream I will recall my previous Tornado dreams and will think....I've dreamed about this before, but this time it's REALLY happening. I usually make it to shelter, just before waking up.

Either high school or college. It's always stuff like not being able to recall a locker combination, missing a large portion of the year and coming back just in time for a test, not being able to recall my class schedule, wandering around the halls because I forgot which room a class is in.
Yes, I have that dream as well, especially not knowing my class schedule. The funny part is I have been out of school for about 20 years now and I still have that dream. What does that mean??

The other recurring dream I have is in regards to golf. I have all sorts of trouble hitting the ball off the tee. Sometimes I can't even get a swing at it. The tee box is usually back up against a bush or a wall or some other obstruction so that I can't even get in a full backswing, or the ball keeps falling off the tee or there is some other issue that is keeping me from hitting the ball. I can sense the people around me looking on and getting impatient as I struggle to get the ball off the tee.

When I was like 4 until I was a teenager I had recurring dreams involving malicious Muppets. Not Muppets that were bad or mean Muppets on the Muppet Show, but nice Muppets like Kermit turning evil and wishing to do harm to me. It was really disturbing since I loved the Muppet Show and Sesame Street as a kid. It's probably why I was so enamored with the old Bert Is Evil website.

Me too. I'm 37 and the dreams usually include random people I went to high school with who I haven't seen since I left. Not even friends of mine, just people that were there. Strange.

Had a dream last night that I have not had in a while, but it is recurring for me. My teeth become loose and sometimes fall out in my dream. Anyone else have

this one?

I used to have that one a few times right after I graduated college.

OHP, I've had the teeth-falling-out dream too. I couldn't begin to guess what that signifies.

Once my mother actually had a tooth break in her mouth - the filling was just too old. I mentioned that I'd had dreams about that kind of thing before and she said, "wow, no wonder you had that look on your face when I told you about it."

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Here's one... This happens pretty much as I fall asleep. I instantaneously go into a dream where I am doing something with my arms, like swinging a bat or a golf club or something, or I am running, jumping, falling, etc... As I do what ever action I am doing, my entire body twitches and I wake up. All the dreams are similar, and it only happens once per night. Does this happen to anyone else?

I get something similar: I'm playing basketball and underneath the hoop in position for a rebound, when a shot glances off the rim and comes straight for my face. I instantly pop awake and simultaneously jerk my hands up. I usually get it during naps or around the time I'm supposed to wake up anyway. Its always a basketball rebound though.

Another reoccurring dream I have comes in a few variations, but the main concept is I start at a location and have a head start on someone or something that wants to do me harm, sometimes more than one. I can go four directions, north south east or west, and the person chasing me basically guesses and I hope he guesses wrong - when there is more than one person its harder to win. This dream is often in third person too, and sometimes in places I recognize and sometimes not. The other weird thing is I'll replay this dream a few different times in the same night, usually trying different directions. I have no idea what it might mean.

I keep on having one dream where I am at Miller Park and the announcer announces there has been a trade. He then announces the trade but I can't hear it. Everyone in the stadium starts to boo and yell about it. But I can't hear who has been traded some Cubs fans get up and start laughing and high fiving each other about the trade. I try to hear what they say but I can't hear them which is probably a good thing I wish the Cubs fans in my dreams were real.

I can never figure out who has been traded. I have had these dreams in the past minus the Cubs fans sometimes and sometimes there is cheering about the trade.

I have a dream that I'm on the Eagle at Six Flags, and after the big drop, on the next hill the car launches off the rails and I wake up just before it hits the ground. I've also had a similar dream where the car is stuck just as were about to go over the hill, so I'm facing down the entire time.

This isn't reoccurring, but I had a dream one time where I was standing on the sidelines at Lambeau Field in full uniform, and at Mike Sherman came up to me and said "Yeah, Brett's not gonna be able to start. Get in there, you know the playbook" But in the dream I didn't know the playbook at all. Then I woke up, I was kinda in a sweat from all of that.

Here's a weird one:

During my dreams over about the past year, there have been random times where my legs felt heavy - like I was running waist deep water. I would try to step and my leg would get like stuck in mid-air. Just during random dreams that would happen. (I've read it means something like not being able to escape you daily stresses or something.)

But then the other night it happened, and instead of fighting through it I just lifted my other leg - I was suddenly hovering in the cross legged position. Only problem was I would gradually start to spin like a top, and it was hard to control it. Then I was suddenly at my Grandmother's old house, in the living room with my younger sister. I showed her my new hovering trick, and she yelled sarcastically "You have demons!" and thought the hovering was very funny, but wasn't concerned over the spinning. I flew around for a while in my Grandma's house, and that's all I remember.

So I have no idea what this new twist in my dreams means.

This does happen to me, but there is no dream leading up to it. It's like a jolt.

I keep having this dream or vision; whatever it is...not real clear, but it does involve Farve and I can't figure out if he is playing for the Packers, if he is retired, is he playing for another team...I don't get it. I do know a tractor is highly featured.

I have a reoccurring dream that happened last night again...and it was pretty freaky how it happened. I always get the feeling that there is someone in my house in my dreams...like I can feel that they are there. I usually get out of bed (in my dream) and go find the person that has broken in. Usually I end up finding the bad guy and kicking the crap out of him until the police arrive. Last night, I was starting to have the dream (shaking, twitching and kicking) and my wife woke me up. I darn near took a swing at her as I thought I was still in the dream and she was the person that had broken in. She freaked out, I freaked out and I only slept in small stretches the rest of the night. Actually, I'm still a little freaked out by the dream. Sheesh.

Edit: Speleng. Hukt en foniks werkt fer me!

Has anyone else had sleep paralysis? This happened to me once last year and it was honestly the scariest thing I think I have experienced. Basically my eyes opened and I had consciousness of my surroundings, but my body could not move. I tried yelling out to my roommate, but no words would come out. I think I was "awake" for maybe a minute or two before I went back to sleep.

I think I have experienced something close to this. I don't think my eyes ever opened. It's hard to explain what happens to me. It's almost like I'm dreaming, but I know it's a dream. I'm trying to move, there might even be a noise that's happening in the room ( i.e. alarm clock going off) that's become a part of my dream. I try to move or turn to see what the noise is, but I can't move a muscle. I struggle so much to move that I finally wake my self up.
