Would You trade Hall for Dunn?

That and $70 million in a contract extension. Dunn has a full no trade, he won't go anywhere without having his contract extended. So Hall would be more than enough.

I don't see why he'd accept an extension without even testing free agency, which means he probably won't agree to a trade at all.

Bill Hall is the single biggest reason this team has struggled so far.

Yes, Fielder, Weeks, Cameron, and Gagne have been terrible, but they have shown some promise at least a couple times. Billy had a big hit early in the year, but has not done squat since and NEVER starts a rally.

I believe he still has value against lefties but his splits against righties are below abysmal.

(BIG---BIG) IF Dunn would wave his no-trade clause i could live with Braun at 3rd base for the rest of the season and let Dunn walk for 2 high draft picks... Hall is a pull hitter whos gonna have a ton of Ks,low BA,low OBP and 60-75 RBIs a year cuz he refuses to use rightfield... But its all a dream as Melvin will no way be able to pull this kind of deal off from Cincy.... Always nice to have dreams though

I didn't think he had a no-trade this year. I thought last year he had a limited no trade and that if he was traded it voided his option year, but I thought this year that he had nothing.

From Cot's Baseball Contracts

  • if club exercises 2008 option, Dunn receives full no-trade clause until 6/15/2008 & limited no-trade clause for the remainder of 2008 (allowing Dunn specify 10 clubs to which he would accept a trade)
  • 2008 option voids if Dunn is traded before 2008

If you're playing for a free agent deal, though, you probably wouldn't mind being in a more visible market and playing in the postseason. If Dunn came up big for a media darling team, his value jumps a bit.
