Ticket question (Sold out games)

I was trying to make late plans to go to this Sunday's game, but when I tried to buy tickets the only ones available are single tickets (I need 2 together). I went to a sold out game on short notice last year planning on buying tickets from a scalper or something, and ended up finding out that there were still tickets available at the window. Does the team keep a certain amount of tickets just for walk up customers? If so, how early would I have to get to the game to pick up 2 seats together? Thanks in advance.

i have a friend who calls the morning he wants to go to the game to see about seats. apparently player and ump leftovers are released the morning of the game for sale. when we can get them, these are usually good seats (expensive, obviously). aside from that i don't know the ticket sales practices, though teams are allowed to call a game a "sellout" after a certain number of tickets are sold, which does not necessarily indicate that there are no more tickets available.

since everyone loves to offer their unsolicited opinions in these cases, i recommend getting familiar with a few of the scalpers. buy from them for a few of mid-week games when you can get seats from them for face or less and they'll hook it up when they can for bigger games. it's no guarantee, but i've benefited from it multiple times.
