I'm open to the idea that I notice it more with cub nation because their fans, as a group, are so irritating.

I'm with you, brother. I posted it last night and someone else posted the same comment about it at the very same minute, so it's not just you.

I wonder if there are more not-really-baseball fans who are Cub Fans. They just like to pretend. They get the tickets because it's the thing to do and they hang out with other non-fans.

Does that happen with any other team's fans? I'm open to the idea that I notice it more with cub nation because their fans, as a group, are so irritating. But I don't notice it with other teams' fans.

It happens in most places (including Milwaukee) on deep flys, well hit balls, etc even if they're caught.

But Cub fans seriously explode into cheering anytime a ball leaves the infield.

Why have Mench and Jenkins turned into Super Stars?

I don't know but I say trade them now. I wan't to be able say I told you so when they go cold for 3 days.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Well, that's more what I was talking about. It's like they're so excitable that mere bat-ball contact sets them off. That's freakish, right?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Definitely. It's a party that happens to be at a cool baseball stadium.

I was bartending in Minnesota back when the Twins made the World Series in 87. All of a sudden every one in Minnesota is a baseball fan. Anytime a Twins batter got his bat on the ball, people would jump up and start cheering. That was a long 2 weeks.
