5/1/08 Brewers (Gallardo) at Cubs (Zambrano): 1:20 PM CDT

Rickie Weeks can fly. He goes 1st to 3rd as well as just about anyone in baseball

There is a difference between running bases well and being fast.

Very true. But I think if you asked around baseball people will tell you that Rickie is very fast. You have to remember that he had to wait and see if Fukudome was going to catch that ball and Dale still tried to score him from 1st. Fukudome has a very good arm

I'd love to see the face of the idiot who caught Zambrano's homerun right at this very moment

It probably doesn't look anything like mine --> http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Like I said, I don't think he's slow by any means, and I only heard the play on the radio. I'm really referring to other plays. How often does he beat out an infield hit?

My impression is that he's usually a step short where as speed guys (like Hart) beat them out.

You may run like Mays...

I was tracking it online via ESPN gamecast. A few thoughts . . .

1. Fukodome bothers me!!!!! (to put it mildly)

2. So does that Fontenot guy

3. I have Soto on my fantasy team and I can't bring myself to play the guy - I should trade him.

4. I also have Braun - ROCK!

5. That last play was the best double play I ever 'read'

6. MIL 4 games, CHC 2 game

7. Hey Chicago - It's NOT Gonna Happen!

8. Gagne made me nervous, but he got it done.

Afeter, nsbb.com will bring you there http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif. By the way I never post anything over there, it's just funny to see Cubs fans react to a heartbreaking loss http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif.

I still can't believe how giddy I am. Maybe the momentum will carry into my intramural softball playoff game!

Wouldn't beating out an infield single have more to do with speed than base running? There really isn't any skill to running to first base. it's a straight line.

I don't know - maybe you are on to something there. To me, Rickie's biggest deterent to him beating out infield hits seems to be that he has trouble getting out of the box. I don't if its from the recoil of his supersonic swing or what, but he never seems to get out of the box as fast as a lot of other quick righ handed hitters

In play, run(s)!

I'm with Stevo, that's the phrase of the day.

The cub nation must absolutely detest Ryan Braun. Yet right this minute, I don't care one bit. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Take care of yourself, Yo, and thanks.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I know it's early but that's a 2 game swing in the standings!!!!

That was a HUGE HUGE HUGE comeback and now that is 4 out of 6 against the Cubs. If Ned says that wasn't a big win in his postgame I may hurl!!!

WOW that was a big one!!!

GO BREW

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. I've always wondered how he could be so successful stealing when he gets on but rarely beat out infield hits.

The computers that run nsbb.com are having some trouble. Usually this is just a temporary problem, so you might want to try again in a few minutes.
