GTA 4

I subscribe to GameFly, and i sent back a few games last week to ensure that i would be getting my copy of GTA4 this week. Speaking of Gamefly, best this going, i pay 25 a month and have had it for about 4 months now and have gone through about 15 games. Doing the math 15x60=$900 vs $100. Best thing is that i am more willing to try games that i would have normally avoided.

I want to know if they fixed, you know, the actual game part. Is the driving finally decent? Is the running and shooting decent? They did supposedly make mission failure a little less of a hassle.

If you buy a 360 and GTA 4 this week, Best Buy gives you a $50 Gift card. Buying a 360 this week from Circuit City gets you a free second controller

My friend is going to buy it. Ive been into online play lately. I am going to see what the online play is like before I decide to get it. Ive never really gotten into the other games...my friends all have. Not so much for me.

I have never been a huge fan of any of the games in the series, but all the hype and ridiculously good reviews (ign.com gave out it's first 10/10 since Soul Caliber), I'm sort of getting swept up in the hype. At the very least I will rent it once my current job is done.

I just got back from Best Buy, after buying this game and Mario Kart. I was not too excited for this release either, but after the reviews started coming in, I felt that I had to own it. I am really curious on how well they will be able to pull off the multiplayer matches, as its hard for me to envision a team deathmatch in a GTA game. I will make sure to give a review after I play for a few hours. I also heard that Mario Kart has the best online experience on the Wii too.

By the way jwill, how is the turnaround time for Gamefly been? When I was a member years ago, it was still pretty slow as it had to go out to California for returns. If its any quicker, I might have to bite again.http://jwill535.u.yuku.com

I also stopped at best buy for a non related reason while working today around lunch time and there were about 20 people line buying the game, ages ranged teen to upper 20's low 30's guys in suits.

The turn around is about a week from sending back to getting a game back. I am on the 3 game plan so i send back 1 or 2 at a time but always have one so i have something to play. I still buy games like MLB and NCAA because i know i will keep them, even if you want the lowest plan its worth it to get games that you would want to play but want to buy or be restricted by renting.

Of course it's going to beat the sales of Halo 3, GTA4 is coming out on both major consoles. Halo 3 was for the 360 only.

I actually just bought a 360 yesterday just for the occasion. I haven't gotten the game yet, but I will this weekend when I have two full days to waste. The first two of inevitably many.

I can't believe I waited this long to get a new-gen console.

If you didn't open the 360 yet, you should take it back and go to Best Buy and buy the game and console at the same time so you get the $50 gift card. I'm pretty sure that they both have to be purchased on the same receipt so they probably won't let you just show them the receipt to get the gift card when you buy the game.

I picked up the game today at Best Buy using my $5 rewards coupon. Unfortunately I won't be able to play it for a while as I will be in Hawaii for the next two weeks...isn't that a shame? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif When I get back I'll spend most of my evenings watching the Brewers so I won't get to play it except on days when the Brewers have off or maybe on a weekend.

Well, I just finished a five hour marathon session of GTA, and the reviews are spot on....run out and get this game. The game had me cracking up several times, and the script is really well written. Gameplay is more like the Vice City in regards to not having to work out or do the daily chores. Lots of mini games to do when you hit the bars, like bowling or darts. A cell phone is introduced into the play of the game, which pops up when friends want to play some multiplayer, and its a hoot just to sit on that and tweek the phone settings like you would your own personal phone.

As for the multiplayer, it really does shine on this game. Team Deathmatch is vastly different then other games with this mode, as running over your opponents never gets old. You are grouped into small teams of two, which forces you to team up with your partner to survive. For instance, if you want to do a drive by, one guy hops in the car to drive, while your partner blasts the window out and leans out to shoot your opposition. Another fun game mode is Cops and Robbers. One team starts as the cops, and the other the robbers. The Cops all start with good guns and police squad cars. The robbers all start on foot with the basic weapons. The goal is for the robbers to escort the "boss" to a goal on the other side of the map before the cops eliminate them.. My favorite mode so far with multiplayer is the free for all mode. This simply is a no rules, just go out and roam the map with a buddy. Want to go race a helicopter against a friend around the map or take the scooters down the subway? We laughed more just taking the bazooka out and blowing each other up and seeing the dead body blown fifty feet into the air. I haven't even touched the car racing on the multiplayer yet, but with all this to see in the game, I can't see taking this game out of the Xbox anytime soon.

You will not laugh out loud in any other online game as this. I love Call of Duty 4 for the skill level, but for pure fun, GTA4 takes the multiplayer to a totally different area. GTA has so many unique game types that its hard not to justify the $60 purchase.

I haven't seen it online yet, but I'm pretty sure that they will release it on PC later this year/next year after they work out the kinks, etc. and spiff it up for the PC. That's what they've done with almost all of the other GTA games.

My wonderful wife picked it up for me yesterday. First she told me she tried and it was sold out everywhere and then it showed up in the fridge. I cant wait till the kids go to bed tonight and I can jam this game for a few hours.
