I'm pretty sure you have to announce who you are PHing for when the player is announced, I don't think you can change your mind afterwards.

Kind of reminds me of the Reds/Brewers game that got picked up by ESPN a couple years back. ESPN kept promoting it as a big offensive game because the Reds and Brewers were 1 and 2 in HR. I think it ended up being a 2-1 game. Villanueva's 1st start I believe.

 

That game was 3-0 in 12 I believe. Dunn hit a walkoff.
