All-Time Brewers roster

RyDogg66

Wow, he looks like he was a bad you-know-what.

Yeah -- The Boomer was a great ball-player -- and he was the best fielding 1b in the game. I have met him a couple of times after his career was over, and he is a non-stop talker.

He told some kid he got those teeth out of pitchers' mouth. This was my most prized card as a kid

So Im guessing this was modern era Yankees only? I see no Ruth, Mantle, Maris, Dimaggio and so on.

No, those guys sucked http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Yes, he was limited to 1970 and on because that was when the BRewers came into existence.

Is he aware of Bobby Murcer?

Out of a pitchers mouth, I can just picture that.

In regards to Murcer, I think so, but Murcer played CF and he wanted Ricky Henderson, which is a good call in and of itself. Also, he is kind of Steinbrenner-esque and wanted a "true Yankee" like Paul O'Neil.

I know you're tilting towards career numbers, and impact with the team, but its odd he picked Willie Randolph when Willie had a monster year for the 'crew in 1991.... in which he posted an OPS+ of 126.

I'd be interested just to post single seasons, regardless of anything else and see how they'd stack up. Cal Eldred's 1992 season stand's out in my mind as one of the great (half) seasons by a Brewers starter, ever.

Give me the Yankee fan's roster - I'll import these teams in the OOTP simulator and see who's better!

awesome.

...

Let me know!

Should I use normalized stats (essentially OPS+ instead of OPS, HR+ instead of HR, ect.) or just the straight numbers?

OPS+, HR+, etc. I think that would bridge the gap between era's. I also changed the Brewers team a little bit.

Thanks!

Darrell Porter should definitely get a look at C.

Tommy Harper's 3B in 1970 was probably better MUCH than Cirillo's, adjusted for era. He was a 30-30 guy.

Moose Haas's 1980?

Doug Jones 1997?

Moose Haas was a good choice, but in the end, he didnt make it.

I went back and forth on Harper, but he only played for the Brewers for 2 years and his 1970 season was so far and above the rest of his career I felt it wasnt representative of the player he was.
