Jim Gantner has just encouraged me to go buy some of the great exorbantly overpriced top tier fuew at Kwik Trip.

So Torres was available for the 9th but not the 8th? When was the last time Riske had a clean outting?

You can get exorbitantly overpriced fuel anywhere, you don't need to limit yourself to Kwik Trip http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Just when you think the Brewers can make for a real depressing afternoon, someone has to remind us about gas prices - that's like kicking a man while he's down http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Yes, the offense has definitely not helped today (especially the baserunning)...but...

Note to Ned - in the 8th inning of a tie game, Torres>>>>>>Riske

Until he gives up some runs and then we move on to the next guy. Is is not always that easy and we know that every reliever will have bad days. Torres has had some rough times as well if my memory serves.

Look at Torres's numbers and Riske's. And I ask again, when was the last time Riske had a clean outting? Torres has been great for us this year and he was obviously available. Riske has not been so great

Sorry for the buzz kill. I was just trying to imitate Gumby's pronounciation skills

Riske's game log before today's game:

4/22 vs. STL - 0.2 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 0 K

4/18 @ CIN - 0.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

4/16 @ STL - 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

4/15 @ STL - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

4/11 @ NYM - 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

4/9 vs. CIN - 0.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

4/5 vs. SF - 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

4/2 @ CHC - 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

3/31 @ CHC - 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K (save)

He was doing very well until Ned decided to throw him for 2 innings in New York, which was the third time in the first couple weeks of the season that Ned threw him for more than 1 inning.

Missed the intentional typo. Living up here in Wausau, I guess I've become immune to his speaking style with all his Woodchuck appearances. (no buzz to worry about killing with how this game unraveled).

Counsell needs to bat first off the bench or bat in important situations, like the one TGJ batted in.

I think you may be right.

I think Yost needs to save Counsell for as long as possible because he's the only extra infielder they have. Oh, wait, they also have Joe Dill...nevermind.

So he has given up 6 ER in his last 3 innings and has given up runs in 3 of his last 4 outtings. And isnt he supposed to be a multiple inning guy in this bullpen?

And if you include today he has given up 8 ER in his last 3 2/3 innings. Wow, stellar. But thats who gets brought into a tie game in the 8th when there are about 4 other options. All I am trying to say that Riske should have been about option #4
