What is on your weekly TV viewing schedule?

fondybrewfan

Really, the only prime time program I make a point of watching anymore is The Simpsons. Akin to that is Madison's finest, the Simpsons Hour, Monday through Saturday on FOX 47, but I miss a lot of those.

If I'm not in attendance at a Brewer game, I'll watch some on TV, but just as often follow by radio or this message board. Even Badger basketball I've followed more either by radio or in person than on TV.

Admission that will make you guys want to jeer at me: if I have a weekday off and get up early enough, I'll try to catch the back to back Waltons episodes on the Hallmark Channel. It's a comfort thing. But that's not weekly or anything.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I've been trying to cut back but:

I DVR:

The Brewers (though I prefer to listen to the radio and do something while they're on)

The Office

Lost

30 Rock

My Name is Earl

Dr Who

The Woodwright's Shop

There's a bunch of reality shows I'll watch if my wife is watching them, and I'll watch things on the Discovery Channel if I'm bored (say Deadliest Catch or Dirty Jobs)

Off the top of my head this is what I'm currently DVRing. I actually don't watch that much TV. The races I usually fast forward through most of and I usually sit down and knock out all the other shows I have saved in one night. I'll admit to still being a big MTV junkie. No I'm not proud of it.

American Idol

ARCA Racing

AWA Wrestling

Bizarre Foods w/Andrew Zimmerman

Formula One Racing

Indy Car Racing

Made

NASCAR Racing

South Park

The Hills

The Real World

True Life

I'm a big Bourdain fan also. I watched all of the previous season's shows. Another Travel Channel show that just ended that I enjoyed was called "Living With the Mek Tribe: the Adventures of Mark & Ollie." Anybody else catch it?

I third that. They've just started re-airing "A Cook's Tour" on Food Network and I'm going to start DVRing them. The first one I saw again was Bourdain in London and his last visit was to Gordon Ramsey's restaurant (his one at the time). Talk about contrasting personalities. They're both high entertainment though.

"Kitchen Nightmares" on BBC is so much better than the version on Fox. I just wish they'd come out with more and stop with the "revisiting." Fox wants to make Ramsey out like a prick, but the BBC paints him as certainly as high intensity but never solely that. He's much more laid back on BBC shows ("Boiling Point" is a fun, tho sorta frivolous show).

A Cook's Tour is back on? Nice! I love how he cynically alludes to it occassionally on No Reservations.

I was amazed the first time I saw Kitchen Nightmares on BBC. I couldn't believe how cheesy Fox made the American version. Sort of a sad testament to the intelligence of the average U.S. television viewer. Don't get me wrong, I love mindless entertainment as much as the next person, but I at least try to pepper in something redeeming now and then.

Do you have a job? Do you ever leave the house? How the hell do you find time to watch that many shows?

I am surprised to see that wrestling is still this popular that so many on here watch it. What's the appeal of watching a staged "sport"?

Edit: Unnecessarily long quote taken out. - Toby

For the longest time i would not watch MAN v.s. Wild but one night i came home from the bars and it was on and i watched it and loved it. Can't say the same for Deadliest Catch, I'VE wanted for the longest time to watch it but it seems to be during baseball or meetings. On a side note i just finished season one of LOST and can't believe it took me this long to watch such a great show.

Brewers

Bucks

Fulham FC, when they're on TV (otherwise I'll find some internet stream)

All other games I'm interested in

Any movie I like that happens to be on TV

Otherwise, I'll probably just have MLB Network or NBATV on in the background. I can't ever get into TV shows because I never remember when they're on.

Anyone know when Deadliest Catch Season 6 is supposed to start??

I don't watch much television anymore. These are the shows that I try to catch on a weekly basis:

The Office

How I Met Your Mother

30 Rock (although I prefer to wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch them all at once)
