I think the difference is that last year he would have waited to let Soup work out of it, but he would have waited for another guy to get on base before he even got anyone up throwing in the bullpen. At least this time he was prepared. I still don't agree with it, but it seems like a slight upgrade.

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.

Here's where we put other relievers besides Gagne in because it's a tie game on the road, they score and it's over, and then people try to justify it as a good decision because "who would save the game then when we took the lead??"

If this ends bady, the worst part will be hearing the Reds crowd cheer as if they've been vindicated after suffering unjustly all day long. I know it's expected that the crowd will feel like its team is being persecuted on days like this, but to back up this BS is embarrassing.

Gagne pitched back to back days so I wouldn't expect him to be out there in a tie game. I don't have a big problem with that though I'd agree with you if he were a bit fresher.

Either way, whether it was a strike or just close to a strike, why would Rickie be content to take a walk in the 9th inning of a tie game with a runner in scoring position? Take a hack, Rickie! Be a hero!
