Shuffleboards

Anyone have one or know where a good place to get one? I'm talking about the shuffleboards that are in bars with the small weights, (not the retirement home shuffleboard) I'm looking to get one for in my basement.

I would suggest that you ask the owner of the establishment that has one of these things. He/she may be able to give you some information. I agree, those things are fun, but I'd rather build a bocce ball court in my yard and get some fresh air while playing. I wonder which would cost less--build a court or buy a table. Of course, you'd have to maintain the court all the time, so you'd have to be dedicated.

Can't say I know of a good place to get one... they do seem to be quite the expenditure.

I've been thinking about buying one from my friend... he's a craftsman who can make them for a fraction of the cost that you'd normally pay. They're quite fun, so it'd probably be worth the purchase, despite its steep cost.

They seem to be cheaper on EBAY, but then again I guess you take the risk of not actually seeing the product in person before you buy it.

I would check the phone book for coin-op and amusement dealers. I don't know where you live. . .There used to be a neat place in Mundelein, IL that had pinball machines and some cool '50s style diner furniture. I have a pinball machine that I bought from TNT Amusements in Philadelphia. There is a place in West Allis that apparently will sell and service pinball games (maybe it's called Red's?). Any place that sells pinball games, table hockey, sliding puck bowling games, skeeball, jukeboxes, etc. would probably at least be able to offer a reference for the slider shuffleboards. They might also have wax. . .
