Possible Curse?

I have gotten 3 Brewer autographs in my life.

 

I got Nick Neugebauers right before he started getting hurt

Jeffrey Hammonds before his first season with the crew

and Rickie Weeks after his rookie year

 

Should I stop getting Brewers autographs?

 

Hopefully Weeks continues his hot hitting and becomes the star he can be so I can think this is all a dumb superstition. But for the time being I think Ill stop getting autographs.

 

O ya i also got Bill Ferrario during the offseason, he was then cut the next training camp

I'm not a big believer in curses. I doubt you need to worry about it.

Nah, you probably just got the autos of the guys without extended success, because they're easier to get than big time players, and they subsequently didn't take off. The reason you got their autographs was a part of the reason they didn't have prolonged success. Weeks is obviously the wildcard, as he could still take off.

 

It's like the Madden Curse, etc, where football players who are at the peak of their game are chosen, and the peak for a football player is often 3 or 4 years.

I have a sort of jersey curse.

 

Bought a Gilbert Brown jersey and he was never the same and eventually retired.

Bought a TJ Ford jersey and he was traded in the offseason following my purchase.

Bought a Favre Jersey about 2 years ago and he retired.

Bought a Carlos Lee Jersey Tee and he got traded.

 

My brother freaked out on me when I bought a Fielder Jersey before the season. Maybe I'm the reason he is struggling.

the favre one is a stretch though....maybe its a curse if you throw in the 2005 season though

2003: Eric Young... traded a few weeks later

2005: Russell Branyan... cut during the off season

2006: Derrick Turnbow... you be the judge

I will no longer get player-specific jerseys. Here are the ones I've had and the result of the player...

 

Sterling Sharpe...career ended the year after I got his jersey

Mark Chmura...career ended plus the trial two years after

LeRoy Butler...retired two years after

Patrick Roy (Montreal)...traded to Colorado the year I got his jersey

 

That's it...no more player jerseys for me because the player will be gone within 2 years of getting a jersey.
