5/18/07 Twins (Bonser) @ Brewers (Capuano) : 7:05 PM CDT

wOOgiE22

It's May 18th and we're still 10 over .500

Yeah, they played like crap after the first inning. I'd rather get all the crap games out of the way now and play for real in June/July and onward.

Exactly, and quite frankly as long as they're in first place it makes it that much easier to wake up in the morning.

I rarely leave a baseball game early, but tonight I had no choice. It was just an absolute stinker. I just wanted to go home.

I left right after Cirillo showed Melvin what a great signing Craig Counsell was.

I should have left after I saw the lineup, Puke.

Fact: Ned is an idiot 72.3567% of the time which will not get us very far in the playoffs, if we do actually make the playoffs.

oh, and the person that said "It's May 18th and we're still 10 over .500", yeah thats fine and dandy, but theres a ton more games to play and we look like crap lately. 10 games over .500 can turn into 0 games over .500 real fast. We are on a slow decent back to mediocre-ism right now and it makes me sick...it makes us all sick.

Great lineup.

Not sure how many options existed. We need one of those many OF's to become a utility man to come into the IF at times like this.

Really, how hard is it to play SB? One of those OF's couldn't play SB for a night?

The bottom 1/3 of the lineup had almost no chance to score.

With all this apparent depth, we sure looked strapped tonight,

Pitchleague just wants a good game on June 24. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Another big crowd, another night where the main attraction turned out to be the bobblehead. Our little box section was about 80-20 Brewers-Twins fans, and it looked to me like Brewers fans filled the majority of seats overall. There was a LOT of Brewers swag, both worn and newly purchased. The home team fans were into the game until that forgettable third inning. After that, even I lost some interest.

Our immediate area was calm, but several of the terrace level employees told us after the game that they'd had to break up numerous fights. One employee said the Twins fans were "worse than Chicago fans," which I thought was a meaningful statement. It made me wonder what the Twins fans had to be upset about (that, and what's up with that saying "Minnesota nice"?).

And to think that I was worried about the bottom third of the Brewers lineup. OK, the leadoff spot too (sorry, Gabe). Then it turned out the whole lineup was a black hole.

So the hawing ticket is now 3-3 (W, L, W, L, W, L). If the pattern continues, everyone should go on May 29, avoid May 31 and go on June 3.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I unfortunately called Hunter's grad slam. As Capuano was walking everyone with 2 outs I said "Just give up the grand slam and be done with it Chris." I turn away and as I turn my head back to the TV the ball is flying out of the ballpark. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

It was truly a disgusting game tonight, as myself and my buddy left after the 7th inning due to all the cars parked on the road behind the home plate lots in MP. Huge crowds are great for the Brewers, and it was a huge crowd tonight. That being said, still being 5.5 up right now makes tonight's game a lot easier to take.

I rarely leave a game early, but tonight's game was totally irritating from the first inning on. With my 20 game pack, I'll try again sunday. I hope we get this week's issues straightened out for two games and win tomorrow and Sunday.

I totally agree. If your going to play both Graff and Couns you have to bat one of them 2 and one 8th to at least split them up. Having them back to back and then the pitcher is like 3 automatic outs in a row.

I to was upset about letting Cirillo walk, and instead going with Couns and Graff. One of the only moves I eve got mad at Melvin about.

Take a look around the league. All teams put up stinkers and have losing streaks. I suppose you thought this team would never have one? Its a bad time right now and the fact that we are 10 over is nice with the way we are struggling right now. Take a look around the league and watch some other teams play. This is a pretty common slump and we are doing it 10 over.
