4/9/08 Reds (Fogg) at Brewers (Bush): 7:05 PM CDT

wOOgiE22

I think the Cubs game was an aberration for Bush. He usually has good control - I think for his career he averages like two walks per nine innings.

I didn't see the Cubs game, don't know which pitches, if not all, he was missing with but supposedly he added two during the spring. Being able to throw new pitches and being able to control them are two different things. So we'll see.

Bold Prediction: Bush pitches fine and only gives up 2 runs.

Bolder Prediction: Fogg and the bench feed on the aggressive Milwaukee hitters and feed the Brewers their first shut-out http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Insane Prediction: Or the Brewers spot the Reds 9 runs and come back to win 10-9.

Shoot Mike, just jogging to his position would do that.

For some really great reading, go to the game thread from last night over at the RedsZone and feel the love they have for Bill Hall.

Out there prediction: the game last until the 14th inning. The Reds take a two run lead on a Dunn homer. Then Cordero comes in to close it out among the worst booing ever. You can even hear people booing their televisions throughout the state. Cordero's slider is junky and he loads the bases for Jason Kendall. Kendall hits a grand slam into dead center field and the team adds his number to the walk of fame tomorrow.

a Duh prediction - Dave Bush will give up 1-2 runs in the first inning and then pitch like Cy Young for the next 3-4 and then fall apart in the 5 or 6th. (This prediction to be applied for every Dave Bush start.)

Bush's fastball averaged 86 MPH during his last start. That's about 4 MPH slower than last year. He's going to need that velocity and his normal command to have a good start today.

This has been mentioned many times but historically, while he's never been anything special early, Bush has had no problems going deeper into games:

It was only last year where he had some troubles in the 6th (he was fine in the 5th):
