Prince Fielder - 0 HRs through 6 games. Prince Fielder - on 2008 schedule magnet.

Fat Ichiro would be fun.

He'd sure fall down a lot in the batters box, considering he's half way to first when he finishes his swing. Actually I was at a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game against the Snappers when Prince was in Beloit, and he fell over after a swing and a miss strike 3, it was pretty funny.

I'd be very surprised if Prince doesn't hit at least 35-40 homers.

As a Reds fan I'm hoping Prince stays in his power drought for oh...say 3 more games. At least your slugger is hitting for avg right now. For the Reds, Dunn is cold, Junior is just starting to get untracked, Encarnacion looks completely lost although he's walking so his OBP is alright and vaunted rookie Joey Votto is struggling badly. Only reason the Reds are 4-3 right now is the pitching has been solid outside of Fogg's start. Kinda funny that two teams that historically are renowned for offense are looking to their pitching right now. Although Suppan's numbers against the Reds aren't good he is catching them in a funk so this could end up a pitching duel tonight.

Dusty was right! All those walks mean he doesn't know how to hit!

I gotta laugh at your comment. When Dusty came out and said that he didn't like walks "because all it does is clog up the bases" I thought our board at Redszone would come unglued! I think Dusty says a lot of things before he really thinks about he said. As long as he keeps coddling our young pitchers (so far so good) he can say what he wants.

Prince Fielder's girlfriend gives him a book.

The book convinces Prince Fielder to become a vegetarian.

Prince had 1 spring training homerun and 0 regular season homeruns through 7 games.

I don't like Prince Fielder's girlfriend.

Show a baseball fan a 20 page statistical study that contains strong evidence that A causes B and he'll call you a fool. But Prince goes 7 days without a HR and the guy obviously needs some beef? For my own sanity, I'll assume that it's all just a running joke. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Prince Fielder is too gifted & powerful a hitter to not hit at least 35 HR over 500+ AB. They come, but when they don't in the first 6 or 7 games, you get people freaking out.

If you don't already, you should check out red-hot-mama.com. Really well-done Reds blog, with some awesome humor about Dusty from 3/31/08 -- this is by far the funniest exchange I've seen on Baker there:

"Here is a verbatim transcript of the Reds' lone scoring effort in their loss to the Diamondbacks to start the 2008 season today.

RHM: Gameday has stopped responding; it's stuck on Griffey.

CTS: Well, Griffey pissed Dusty off by walking.

CTS: And then, in a surprising turn of events, that clog of the bases resulted in a run somehow when Phillips tripled.

RHM: This is exactly what the game wrap should say.

CTS: It gets better.

CTS: Phillips is clogging up third. But somehow, he scores when Dunn grounds out to short.

CTS: Now EdE's clogging up first. There are 2 outs and Javy's up.

CTS: Ah, and Javy ended the inning.

CTS: Strange. 2 runs scored without a single solo homerun.

RHM: Amazing.

RHM: Something just doesn't add up there."

Look at the larger scope of things, people. Albert Pujols, Carlos Beltran, Adam Dunn, Corey Hart, Barry Bonds, Magglio Ordonez, Paul Konerko, and Jason Bay also have zero homeruns between them so far this season. There's obviously something larger at work here than Prince's vegetarianism; and clues point to either an epidemic of some mysterious, strength-sapping disease running rampant in baseball clubhouses, or a contamination of the world's drinking water. This is an issue of national security.
