Mike Bonan, "clubbie", dies

Sad news from Miller Park

After an exciting, encouraging opening weekend at Miller Park, the Brewers announced some sad news this afternoon.

Mike Bonan, a 22-year-old Wauwatosa resident who worked in the visitor's clubhouse, died of injuries suffered in an auto accident early Saturday morning.

Basically said something to the effect that the whole team is thinking about him and his family. Wished them the best. Trenni asked him a question, he mentioned that he wanted to talk about the situation first. Then answered her question.

Ben Sheets is just as much of an ace of a human being as he is a pitcher. If he doesn't stick around in Milwaukee, I'll miss him just as much for who he is as for what he does.

Yeah this is such a sad story. They did a report on this on the CBS 58 news after the national championship. He was driving with a couple of friends when they got in a single vehicle accident, everybody was okay and he got out to check the damage to the car when a 20 year old woman came by and tried to swerve out of the way and ended up hitting him.

 

They interviewed his sister and some friends of his. He seemed like a great kid. RIP.

Judging only the TV interview, his sister seemed to be holding up remarkably well considering the circumstances. I don't think I'd have handled it that well.
