I just finished my new CD, and I'd like to share it...

Well, I've recently put the finishing touches on a CD that I've been recording and I have now decided to release it for free online so that I can get some new listeners. If you are into general rock, alternative, acoustic music, or folk rock, this might interest you.

I respect the BF.net community's music taste, so I figured this was the best place to start! When you download the file, you'll notice it's a .zip with a bunch of MP3's in it. Simply open the .zip file, drag the MP3 files into your iTunes music folder, and then drag those files into your iTunes library -- their tags should already be written on to keep your iTunes nice and tidy. Thanks for your time, and hopefully a few of you will enjoy it!

Well, I appreciate it, RyDogg. A few of the songs have an Adams-feel to them, I suppose, but I wouldn't dare actually compare myself to him. There's a reason why he's considered one of the better American songwriters and I'm considered one of the many American college students. = P

Jordan, these are awesome. I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but these kick butt. My criticism of the genre in general is that I feel a lot of the songs sound the same, and I guess it semi goes to this collection as well, but that's my only criticism. I just did one listen through, but they all seemed the same tempo.

But they sound top notch, well done, extremely impressed.

I'll agree with sbrylski. I'm not too into the genre, but I thought it sounded pretty good. I also thought they might've sounded kind of similar, but again I don't listen to that kind of music too often so that's probably why I can't pick up on some of the differences. You've got a good voice, by the way.

Production is good, voice is good, guitar is good. Really, as an overall package, this is better than a lot of studio releases.

That being said, the lyrics are often forgettable, and some are outright clunkers, such as:

"There is no gleam inside of me"

"This flock of sheep will help me fly" from Penelope. I could find more, if need be.

I also agree that the sound is all too similar on a number of the tracks - similar strum patterns and chord progressions. Some of them, to my ear, are simply too bright.

My favorite track upon first listen is Quiet Little Girl, maybe because it is so different from the others.

But as I said, this is extremely well done. I'm impressed. Keep it up.

Hey:

Sounds on par with and better than most studio releases these days... for my personal tastes, I'd like some of these songs to kick into a higher gear. But this is good and will serve well on mellow days.

You should be very proud - and don't get so big that you won't let me put one of your songs in one of movies some day...

I'll have more time to give it a more worthy listen in the next few days - will report back then...

Bill
