Brewers gear for women--please help

Nearsighted Views

I don't know if anyone else's GF or wife is having this problem but:

My wife is neither petite nor obese. She is also well endowed. It seems like all the clothes in the fanshop are either so tight in her chest that she looks ridiculous or they're so loose that she looks like a kid wearing her dad's shirt. Most of the stuff in the "women's" section looks like kids clothes to me. She has money burning a hole in her pocket but can't find anything that fits her at MP (trust me, we were there for over 2 hours a couple weeks ago...) Anyone else run into this? The plus sized stuff is way too big and the regular stuff makes her chest look like it's going to rip through at any time.

Please help as I can't stand the rants anymore....

And then she broke up with me and I still don't got it back yet http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif

I share your wife's pain. It bugs me, too, that I have to opt for ill-fitting men's T-shirts because I'm not a skinny "junior." I haven't been all over looking, but so far I've noticed no improvement in stores like Penney's. (The department stores in Madison don't have enough Brewers stuff.)

I do have a Brewers hoodie that I really like. I had to get XL in order for it to fit the way I wanted, but I wear it a lot. It's retro blue and has a little ball-glove logo. The zipper is a bit flimsy, but there happens to be a business in my neighborhood that fixes zippers - I figure if it fails, I'll just have them replace it.

The hoodie was $55.00, but I think I've gotten my money's worth out of it the last two seasons. (Also, it was a gift.) I was in the Fan Zone Saturday and the hoodie is still available.

And I realize your wife may not want to pimp the website, but the bf.net store has women's (not just juniors) clothing. Those have worked well for me.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

hawing--it's funny that you mention that. That hoodie is the only thing she's found that fits and she's also gotten her money's worth as she wears it to EVERY game we go to....hahaha

And I think my wife might like to pimp the website. She calls you people my "supersecret Brewers friends" and just loves it when I pop up after every inning to check the IGT.

I'll check it out.

It does seem weird that women's sports apparel seems to be designed either for Britney Spears or Rosie O'Donnell. It's like you either have to be sexy and bare some skin or be a husky tomboy in a dude's shirt. My GF is about 4'10" and 100lbs, so she can wear the shirts designed to be really skimpy but they look like a normal form-fitting women's shirt. That, or she can save money by buying kids' sizes.

I'd guess much of this comes from the fact that a lot of women's team apparel is purchased by their male significant other, who's often not good at buying women's clothes and always buys a size big "to be safe". That's how I roll.

I'd keep looking in the Fan Zone, b/c I've found that the only good, cute stuff I can get is sold out by the end of May. You can ask the staff if they'll be getting any new styles in - they've usually been pretty helpful when I've asked (like when they warned me that the cool camo/pink hat would be gone forever in May and I didn't believe them). Also, sometimes some medium or small men's shirts fit alright. Just wash them in warm water.

The only place I've bought Brewers stuff is the Fan Zone or the store at Maryvale. The stuff at Kohls is pretty crappy. I've been told to try Champs and Footlocker though, just haven't made it there yet.

Has anyone ever bought a women's jersey? They only carry them online, and I'm a bit hesitant to spend that kind of money without being able to try one on.

I'm in the same boat as your wife and I can tell you that I have found lots of things in the kids departments. I have founds LOTS of things at Marshalls - kids XL are meant for "husky" big boys and I find that I like them the best. Without it getting too much like Skinemax in here, I have much the same problem as you're saying she does and though they can end up being a little tight, they fit better than the juniors stuff. Check your PM.

It's nice to know that when I go to a Brewers game I have at one thing going for me with the guys...my clothes. Yahoo!

As I got ready for bed, I was reminded of a GREAT women's brewers item - the polka dot pajama pants they had last year. I picked up a pair at the "rummage sale" they had in the winter and they're so comfy. The only time I will wear polka dots is if there's a brewers logo somewhere as well.

I'm another curvy female who has found luck with kid's XLs. I think they are actually longer than some women's apparel.

The nice thing about about the bf.net cafepress store is that it provides the length of the shirts, so your wife can compare a shirt she likes to one she already has.
