Last year, Kim had two very different starts against the Brewers:

Aug. 2nd @ COL -- 8 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 10 GB, 5 FB, 106 pitches (I remember this entire horrible series too clearly)

Aug. 23rd @ MIL -- 5 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, 5 GB, 5 FB, 79 pitches

The Brewers' longest first-place run in club history is 61 days, set in 1982 (August 3 through October 3).

The Brewers have currently been in first place for 42 straight days, and being up 6.5 games basically guarantees them another week, even if the Cardinals don't lose and the Brewers don't win.

I'm intrigued by this, only because it shows how historically bad this franchise has been, how long we've suffered, and how much we should be enjoying this, no matter how frustrating it can be at times. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Wow. Look at Kim's splits against lefties compared to righties.

sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?playerId=4076

In 44 total ABs this season, lefties are hitting .400 against him. With a .775 SLG and 1.312 OPS. 16 total hits, 4 HRs and 12 Walks.

Compared to righties who are hitting .091 in 40 ABs. With a meesly .159 SLG and .316 OPS. Just 4 hits, 1 HR and 4 Walks.

So with that said, I expect we might see Ned load up the lefties. Maybe a line-up like this??

CF/TGJ

SS/Hardy

3B/Braun

1B/Fielder

C/Estrada

LF/Jenkins

RF/Gross

2B/Counsell

P/Cappy

Kim's best start this year was against the cubs and they are mostly right handed. Soriano, Lee, Ramirez, DeRosa, Theriot, Murton. I mean obviously he pitches well when there's a lot of righties so lets go with a lefty lineup. Sit some guys on the bench to get those lefties.

You got to go with the lefties tonight.

Hell, we even got lucky our left handed hitting pitcher is going tonight.

I\It's tricky, to start Corey Hart or not...he's been good lately and really rolling. But Gwynn hasn't played in a few nights and if you're going to play him, this is the night to do it.

Probably bench Hall and Hart tonight and use Gwynn and Gross. This keeps the other two rested for tomorrow also.

Gwynn (lefty) (CF)

Hardy

Braun

Fielder (lefty)

Jenkins (lefty)

Estrada (lefty)

Gross (lefty) (RF)

Counsell (lefty)

Cappy (lefty)

How could you not go with that?

And then when they bring in the bullpen we can make late game changes into our righties.

You have to play the splits here. This is the perfect opportunity to rest some guys and give other guys a chance. The ultimate platoon lineup.

Seriously, look at the guys splits. Hes faced about the same (40 left, 44 right) this year and its an amazing difference. Against righties the guys better than Pedro in his prime. On lefties the guy shouldn't even be in MLB. He looks like he's the kind of guy you want out of the pen to handle a couple righties.
