Recalling a happier moment from Monday's game, has anyone seen an online clip of that popup dropping amid the litter of cubs? I'd like to show it to people who did not have TV access last night.

I think trying to pigeonhole Bush as an "X innings" guy is silly, but I do think he should be kept on a short leash. It seems like it becomes obvious very quickly when his tank runs dry, and last night was no exception. Granted, the relievers failed last night, but that doesn't excuse leaving him in when he clearly was done.

I just don't see the argument that "Bush was done" last night. The previous inning he had cut down the 3-4-5 hitters on five pitches. That's an inning that starts with Derrek Lee and Aramais Ramirez - no mean feat.

Yeah, but Shouse is no LOOGY.

Ehh... I've checked career splits on Shouse, and while he does fair better against lefties he still does not strike me as a one out specialist (and if you look at this year's splits its even more uninspiring). On 4 occasions in the last month Shouse has been unable to record one out. He is being used as a LOOGY this year by Yost because its all he has in the pen, but IMO he is no LOOGY, just a sub-mediocre reliever.
