We need to kick these guys while they are down. Lets get 0ur lead in the central even higher. I'm really nervous about St Lou making a run at us. The good thing is their pitching is lacking so they should be more volatile. Lets go crew!

"kick these guys while they are down."

Assuming these guys will come in down is a huge mistake.

They have been getting beat up both on the field and in the media, but coming off a big win with 4 months to go against the division leader, I expect them to be coming in loaded for bear.

Marquis has pretty close to the same peripherals as he had in 2005 only he's had luck with LOB%, HR rate and BABIP. His FIP sits at 4.18. Three of his last 4 games he's given up 4 ER's in 5 or 6 IP, so his ERA is reverting back to normal. Don't be fooled by that ERA.

I'm not fooled by Marquis and his ERA either. On the other hand, I'm not fooled by Bush's last start. Somehow, I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those 11-9 kind of games with both starters out after 3-4 innings.

Not to mention that Piniella won't be in attendance. It looks to me like this team is playing tight - hopefully they don't relax without Lou around to bark at them.

Yea because the Crew has played in so many of these this year.

I see a low-scoring, well-played game with the Brewers winning 4-2.

The glaring difference is that Bush's current ERA is well above his career ERA, while the opposite is true of Marquis. I don't expect Bush to give up 1 run in 7 IP every time, but I don't expect his ERA to be above 5.0 by the end of the year either. He has a career 4.46 ERA, with almost half his IPs coming in the very difficult AL East.

I hope they play angry and are over aggressive at the plate and make, silly, aggressive base running errors. Sounds good to me.

Fill up those stands Brewer fans! Shut down the Cub crowd!

Let's make this IGT a very short one with very few posts because everyone is at the game.

I can't make it until tomorrow, so I'll listen on the radio. Make it so I don't hear the annoying ones!

The Cubs will have their 8-12 run games this year. With that offense they have got to. But they are still the Cubs, and they are still relying on guys like Z and Rich Hill and Jason Marquis. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

In all seriousness, though, imagine where the Cubs would be if Rich Hill didn't come out of nowhere and Jason Marquis wasn't having a career year.

I don't feel that Rich Hill "came out of nowhere" this season. He was pretty darn good in the second half of last season and has always been fairly highly touted.

Frankly, Marquis has always scared me more with his bat than his arm when he's faced the Crew.

It would be greedy to EXPECT Bush to put together two sterling outings in a row, but boy would it be a nice development if that were to occur...
