Please win guys. I dont think I could stand seeing the Cubs take the series from us in our own park. Vargas really needs to pound the meat tonight. And we need to hit better with men on the bases.

Im feeling a big day for Hall. Please make me right Billy.

You obviously weren't around for the second series of the year.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Lilly tonight has the making of a big win for the cubs tonight i just hope the crew find their Bats.

Why? He's been pounded in his last two starts, and it's not like he historically dominates us. He only has pitched in one game vs the Brewers.

On a side note... last month at this time the IGT would be on it's 3rd or 4th page.... disappointing seeing some jump off the bandwagon this soon. Although they were prolly the same people that jumped on after the first month...

To go or not to go...

There are right field bleacher seats available, my favorite spot, and I don't have anything going on tonight, but Vargas is pitching, meaning I'll be in the ballpark until 1am...

I'm torn!

Im feeling a big night out of Bill E Hall tonight too. 2b, HR, 2 runs, and RBIs. Also Braun will go deep and the Brewers will win 6-3. Last night RISP was just awful and without looking at the stats it seems like the running theme of 2007. Hopefully those hits will start coming in the 2nd half of the season.

Without looking at stats, I'll go out on a limb and say this has been a running theme since 2004 (if not earlier) for the Brewers.

I was debating whether or not I wanted to go tonight, and ended up biting the bullet and getting a ticket in the left-field bleachers. I chose that over my preferred right-field bleachers because of the lefty on the mound for the Flubs in hopes that some of our righties decide that they would rather hit bombs than strike out or ground out weakly to the pitcher (Kevin Mench, I'm looking at you).

This'll be game two of the year for me, and I'll be going it alone, wading into a sea of jerks and morons, aka Northsiders, aka sCrub fans, aka Our Unfriendly Neighbors to the South aka *(I don't think I can even type the three-letter abbreviation, but the middle letter is I for Illinois)* aka go back to Chicago you losers we don't want you here.

The last game I attended, on Memorial Day, the Brewers left lots of RISP LOB and an inability to hit an above-average lefty. Hopefully they do a little better today, and hopefully if Fielder leaves one in the seats he won't decide to do it while I'm in line for a brat. Jerk.

I take it back, Prince - hit home runs whenever you feel like, as long as it's frequent and preferably with men on base.

It's OK to look this stuff up once in awhile. The Brewers had a lower BA w/RISP in 04' and 05' but had a higher BA w/RISP in 06'. Right now, they have an overall BA of .260 and a BA w/RISP of .245. They "should" have about 7 more hits w/RISP over the 58 games they've played. That's not insignificant but we are talking about 1 extra hit about every 8 games.

How many more wins would the Brewer have, had if they had gotten those 7 extra hits? It could have been 7 or it could have been 0, depending on when they had happened. A realistic number is maybe around 2 extra wins (maybe 20 runs). Considering the Brewers have barely outscored their opponents so far, yet find themselves 6 games over, it's kinda hard to play the underperforming card, though.

okay, Russ, so I looked it up.

BA w/ RISP

2003: .244

2004: .221 (ugh!)

2005: .240

2006: .263

2007: .245

I'd say that except for the blip of 2006, retrosheet has pretty much backed up off-the-top-of-my-head guesstimation that it has been a trend since 2004 (actually longer).

I'm not sure if you're beating down my assessment or just posting the stats to back up my statement.

How do you know we "should" have about 7 more hits w/RISP?

Wouldn't it be logical that your BA would be consistent with or without runners on base? The reality is that it's not that simple, but I would guess that's his logic.
