The Tigers announcers have referenced the 10 K's by Verlander but have never once said anything about the no-no. I've noticed they've chosen their words carefully throughout and when the pitching line comes up they say, 'take a look at those numbers folks' and leave it at that. They believe in jinxes evidently.

 

Thank God we have our best hitters leading off this inning 1-2 for us.

The only thing Ned can really say was that Verlander pitched a great game, anything else would be taking away from his accomplishment IMO.

 

It would be disrespectful to say that his team just stunk, unless he did so in a way that was respectful first and foremost to Verlander.
