CRUSH! DECLAW! TRAMPLE!

I hated when I saw this on the schedule and I hate even more now. I will be grateful for one win. Soup and Verlander? This could be over in the 2nd.

Needless to say, Go Crew!

edit...yes it should have been declaw.

Even I, a relative optimist, am tempted to shudder when I see those splits vs. Suppan.

But the Texas pitchers didn't look tough on paper, so what do I know? C'mon, Brewers, pleasantly surprise me.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

If there's one thing that I've learned is ALWAYS true about baseball, its that once you think you've figured out exactly what team is going to win which game, thats when they lose, and vice versa.

I've been waiting for a match up that the Brewers are 'supposed to lose on paper' for a while (if only because then if they do lose, there's a little more of an excuse http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif )

Brewers are going to take 2 of 3 and come very close to sweeping.

Woogie must like or respect Verlander, no hateful/funny picture of him.

The majority of those ABs are from like 5+ years ago, aren't they?

I think people assume the Brewers should beat bad teams with a bad starting pitcher 90% of the time and lose to good teams 10% of the time. The true odds are generally much more tighter. Looks like the line is about +155, which means Vegas thinks the Brewers have about a 1 in 3 chance of winning. Not great odds but certainly not hopeless.

Just need to take 1 of the first two and then with the way Benny is tossing I'll take my chances with Sheets on Thursday.

Soup actually has decent splits at Comerica. That just seems like his kinda park.

Comerica Park

3.67 ERA

3-1 W/L

8/8 G/GS

54.0 INN

52 Hits

22 ER

18/19 K/BB

.252 Avg Against

I'm with AC. The last game I thought the Brewers were going to lose was last week against the Cubs, coming off a (relatively) tough loss, with Vargas facing Lilly. Of course, it was the only game they won in the series. Overall, it seems like about 50% of the time I write a game off, they win.

So here's to that trend continuing. Either way, looking forward to a night of low expectations. Barring a total bullpen collapse squandering a lead, it'll be tough for the Crew to frustrate me tonight (knock wood).

Quote:
Nasty splits vs the Soup. Lets right the ship and get back to our winning ways.

You know everytime Soup's splits are posted in the gameday threats they seem to be bad. I guess thats for a few reasons.

He's been around so long, almost every team is bound to have a few players with good splits against him

The guy pitches to contact and gives up hits. The key here is to not give the opposition extra outs with poor defense like in his last start against the Cubs.

On the positive, at least he's had success against Sheffield. Though the law of averages tells you Sheff is due.

Well, here's to everyone swinging from their heels on 97 MPH cheese. Tip your hat to Verlander and his easy 10+ Ks tonight boys.

Now if only they can get to verlander. The tigers have some definite bullpen questions.

Gotta love how Counsell and Graff have a few good games and suddenly they're hitting 1-2 in our lineup. This is ridiculous, why would you try to get Craig and Tony the most AB's in a game? Tigers fans are probably laughing at this garbage.

Well I was upset that I was going to miss half the game coaching my son?s baseball team. At least I know now that I won?t be missing much. In fact I may not even check the score when I do get home to avoid any potential disappointment in the score.
