I forgot to add that when I met Doug Davis over the winter and we were getting a few auto's, my cubs buddy asked him to sign his cubs hat. Davis looked at him kind of funny and my buddy said, hey, write whatever you want, doug said...anything? My buddy said ANYTHING. So Doug signs the underbill of his fitted cubs hat....Cubs suck. I own them. God bless, Doug Davis.

After reading that, I want Doug Davis back even more!!

In August of 2005 I saw JJ Hardy at the Jewel-Osco (Now Pick N Save) on National and Sunny Slope in New Berlin. It was early evening after a day game. I was walking in and getting a cart when I saw him walk in behind me. I recognized that I knew him, but I couldn't think of who it was. I just blurted out "JJ!" and he turned and said "Yeah". And I was like "Hey". He smiled and continued on. I went on shopping and watched other shoppers recognize him as well.

I used to work at Pick N' Save in New Berlin, and I saw 3T0, Billy Hall, Hardy, and Weeks all at different times. No one knew who any of them were besides me. Billy rolled up in his Escalade, so I knew it was probably a Brewer, and sure enough it was him. I bagged his groceries. He was with his lady friend, who was a knockout obviously. JJ ad Rickie were together, and Hardy's dad was with them which was kind of odd. Anyways, I'm pretty sure they were having a party, because JJ had a cart full of booze, and Rickie was being prepared let's say http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. 3T0 just looked like a normal guy walking around, so I found that pretty cool. All of the guys were really nice though, and I had conversations with all of them. I think if this happened in the last year or so, there would be no way that they wouldn't be recognized. This happened back in '05.

Those run-ins must have left quite the lasting impression with you. I assume this since you posted nearly the exact same thing practically word for word on the previous page of this thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Haha, oops, I didn't even realize that this was the same thread. Thanks for the heads up.

That is 100% beautiful. You have inspired me to wear my Doug Davis jersey sometime this week. Watch for it at the park!

Downtown Chicago a coupel weeks ago on Saturday evening the 4th I saw Jason Kendall and Ken Macha walking with their families at different times. Macha with his wife, and I didn't realize it was him in time to say anything. Kendall was with his whole family, and my girlfriend just said "Hi Jason," and he just said hello back. Granted, we were fairly close to the team hotel, but even still it was cool to just see those guys out on the street.

Last month I saw Todd Coffey and his family walk into the Cheesecake Factory at Mayfair. He sat down and was playing with his iPhone so I said a quick hello. He shook my hand and thanked me for stopping by.

Wednesday I saw Dave Bush at the airport. We were both retrieving our bags (different flights). He was really friendly. We shook hands and chatted for a bit. I told him I hope he'll be back soon. He said 'yes, soon'. He was with his young daughter, and I was with mine, and they were waving at each other which was funny. Should have set up a playdate :-)

I'm working at the airport rental facility today when I saw a customer walking towards me. From 100 ft away I think I recognize him. When he gets to me I check the name on his rental agreement, and sure enough it's one Mathew Gamel renting for 10 days. I was very stoked, he was his California surfer dude not-caring attitude self.

About 3 weeks ago my dad and I were eating at the Original Pancake House on the eastside of Milwaukee. We were just chatting when out of the corner of my eye I spotted a guy that looked an awful lot like Yovanni Gallardo. At first I wasn't sure as his back was to me, but the Ed Hardy t-shirt he was wearing was a dead giveaway. He was eating with his family so I let him be, but as he was paying his bill I decided to say hello to him. Nice dude. Quick hello and goodbye. I was shocked that no one else in the restaurant even gave him a second look. Funny too as there were several college kids sitting no more than 30 ft. away from him all decked out in Brewers gear.

So I was walking from my office in downtown Chicago to catch the el at the Merchandise Mart tonight and as I'm crossing the Franklin St. bridge i see that a couple is being professionally photographed by a handful of photographers, looks like the lady is in a wedding dress. I don't think much of it, but I turn around to look at the couple and I swear to god it was Mark Attanasio. My suspicions were heightened when I saw that the car waiting for them had California plates. I have no idea why he'd be in downtown Chicago, but if this wasn't him, it was a dead ringer for him. I really wanted to yell out a "Go Brewers!" or something like that to see if he acknowledged me, but I didn't want to intrude. Never in my life have I wished I was wearing a Brewers hat more than I did then, haha.

I ran into DD at Kennedy's on Jefferson and Wells St. a few years back. I was out with a couple buddies and he was with a couple guys and a few broads. He was real approachable and we had a few laughs. My buddy offered to buy him a shot which he declined. We did the shots in turn.

OT, but that is an excellent avatar.
You're biased!

Anyways, I'm about 99% sure I saw Packers WR James Jones in Bayshore Mall last winter. Knowing his background, I'm assuming he came down to Milwaukee for homeless outreach. If that wasn't James Jones, he sure is a confident dude, as he sure responded clearly to my "I know who you are" head nod.

WAY off topic, but now that I live in San Fran, I probably won't run into any Brewers any time soon. However, Matt Shaughnessy, from UW, playing for the Raiders often comes to the downtown Badger bar to watch the Badgers play. Real nice guy. He takes the time to talk to everybody.

Also off-topic... but I saw Terry Porter leaving a restaurant with his family the other night a few blocks from my place here in Portland.

I told the gf & a friend we were walking with (she's not a big sports fan) who he was, & the friend said, "Oh, that tall black man? I wondered if he was a basketball player but then I just thought I was being racist."

I saw Dan Gadzuric at the Best Buy in Fox Point on Monday. He was dressed very nicely in a suit, and I believe he was buying a laptop.
I hate that Best Buy, it's so tiny. Bet Gadzuric looked like even more of a giant in it.

I very much enjoyed reading this thread, thanks everyone for posting in it.

I live in Madison, so I haven't met or seen any Brewers (though I suppose it could happen sometime). I grew up part of the time in Baltimore and met a bunch of Orioles in the 70's at autograph signings and such (Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken Jr, Ken Singleton, Earl Weaver, Dave Duncan, etc ... Weaver was cool to talk to, a super funny person)

I met Jim Palmer (also when I was a kid in the 70's) on a flight from Chicago to Baltimore. He was super nice to me and took the time to talk baseball with me. When I told him I wanted to be a Major Leaguer someday he was very encouraging but also gave me the obligatory "stay in school, do your homework" thing, which, looking back on it, was cool of him...

I forgot to mention this, but a few weeks back our company had a meeting at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. This was during that final series of the year between the Cubs and Brewers. Anyway, I'd swear I saw Carlos Zambrano sitting in the lobby, talking with with some guy. I didn't bother to go say hello or investigate any further, though.
