I went to grade school with Vuke's son! The only tangible memory I have of Vukovich is his gator boots he wore on a field trip as a chaperone to the Milw. museum -- when he answered my question of "What are your boots made from?", I was just in awe that this man had singlehandedly killed & skinned an alligator, and then handliy crafted its skin into awesome boots. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I played a few ballgames against Vuke's kid. We nicknamed him "Ogre". Dude looked 40 when he was 15. He gave me props for hitting 3 doubles off the wall in the same game.

I think Jerry Augustine's kid was on the same team.

Augustine's kid is my insurance agent

How old is Vuke's kid and what team did he play for?

I've worked at Mayfair Mall now for a couple years and I've seen: Ben Sheets, Bill Hall, Rickie Weeks, JJ Hardy, Yovanni Gallardo, Corey Hart, Seth McClung, Ken Griffey Jr, Adam Dunn, Austin Kearns, Larry Harris, Andrew Bogut, Yi, Michael Redd, Toni Kukoc, Samuel Dalembert, Kenyon Martin, Ron Artest, Donald Driver, Gilbert Brown

I know theres more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I interned with the Brewers a few summers ago, and actually sprained my wrist during the office kickball game. As if that wasn't embarrassing enough by itself, the next day Cirillo stopped by the office and was saying hello to some people. This was when he had broken his hand, and he saw my splint. He said, "Ouch, how'd you do that?" Let's just say I didn't take a 90 mph fastball off my hand like you did. I wanted to die.

I was on 59, going pretty fast and this silver "space ship" started to close on me and he finally passes me and it ends up being Estrada.
Maybe he was trying to compensate for something.

"You guys think I'm slow, huh? Huh?"

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.

2 quick thoughts:

1) Turnbow is a big golfer? I wonder if his slice is as dramatic as his off-speed pitch. I shudder to think of his "fairways hit" percentage. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

2) I never understood why players on the visiting team would go to the mall...that seems like an ultra-lame thing to do. The mall? Seriously? I haven't wanted to go to the mall without an expressed purpose since I was a junior in high school. Especially if they're staying in a hotel downtown...why would you ride all they way out to Mayfair if you're Griffey or Dunn? I guess I could understand Grand Avenue if they had a couple hours to kill, but still.

I remember playing against Agustine's kid (with Jerry as the coach) when I was in high school. This was summer ball and I played for a Racine Legion team and they were called somethng like "Southeast" That team was a group a kids a year youger than my team, but they were pretty good. Might have played them in a Wilson Park Tourney or something like that.

This probably doesn't count because it wasn't in Milwaukee, but I was at a fall league game 2 falls ago at Scottsdale Stadium and Vuke was there scouting and a few innings later Yount showed up and sat with Vuke (Robin's son was playing for the opposing fall league team). I ended up talking to Robin for a few minutes that night and got my picture taken with him. He was really nice. Vuke on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the fans and wouldn't sign. Might have had a lot to do with the fact that he was working.

last year i was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic next to estrada (LOL at the 'silver spaceship' comment, so true) and tony grafanino. graf had a sweet, sleek black infiniti, and his son was in the passenger seat.
i met jj, rickie and bill hall in manhattan last year, of all places...
i've seen rickie out and about downtown on milwaukee street a few times. i've seen braun downtown, as well.

question - what building was cappy's condo in? i would've given my pinky finger to see him bumming around downtown on that segway.

Well, I'm quite new to posting on this site, but been a long time observer, so here goes:

-I bagged groceries for Jenks several years ago (like at least 6 or 7 years ago) at V.Richard's. I had to take his groceries out to his car for him and the Crew was in the middle of a monster losing streak. I didn't mention a lick of baseball to him and he gave me a $20 tip.

-Right after Corey Hart was called up from Nashville in August or September of 2005, he was in front of me in line at Circuit City Brookfield. Bought a CD and drove off with what had to be his mom and one of his kids in a crap beater mini van with Cali plates.

-Saw Brady Clark in 2005 with a smoking hot blonde at Barnes and Noble at Brookfield Square. Coincidentally, he purchased, "Baserunning for Dummies."

-I know Braun lives downtown in a condo, but am unsure which one.

-The places I've know opposing teams to frequent the most are: Blu, Flannery's, Safe House.

-All the Bucks (if anyone cares) are nearly always at Tangerine.

And because I'm still figuring out how to add quotes and links to my signature, our blog can be found here: www.brewtownbeat.blogspot.com.

Ben McDonald & Mike Matheney sat infront of me at a Tim Mcgraw concert but only for a couple of minutes.I would have not even noticed who they were except I noticed this guy(McDonald) who was wearing a really nice Nike Jacket. I thought to my self he has to pay a pretty penny for that or he must be an athlete. Sure enough. I think he pitched that day & he was put on the DL right after that . I dont know if he has pitched after that. Ben & his wife were there with one of his wifes friends Im assuming. Mcdonald was kind of making fun of the music & I dont think he really wanted to be there. Matheney just seemed yo be taking everything in & did not really talk to anyone except Mcdonald. Soon Ben got them all backstage & they were gone.

I am resonably certain that Mike Cameron bought and moved into a house a few doors down from me. A few years ago a builder built a house and put it up for sale at a ridiculous price. It remained empty and for sale for at least 2-3 years. Suddenly a few weeks ago, it sold. During the Brewers first homestand after Cameron joined the team, someone was moving in and there was a tricked out black Escalde w/ Georgia plates in the driveway. They soon went on the road again, and the Escalde was gone the entire time - until yesterday morning when I drove by after the Brewers got back in town, the Escalade was back. So, while I haven't actually seen him, I am pretty certain its a Brewer, and reasonably sure its Cameron - just makes too much sense.

Back during Ray King's first tour with the Crew, I used to see him down on Water frequently (usually at McGillicuddy's) and also several times at the casino. Always solo

I've heard from friends that you can add Encore to that list.

I'm not sure the name of the condo, but it's the tallest one located on the southern end of Prospect Ave. Braun gets interviewed on 94.5 WKTI out of Milwaukee every Thu morning at 7:45 and mentioned last week he'll be looking to buy a condo in Milwaukee now that he's signed the big deal. He also said Corey Hart is currently involved in long term contract negotiations with the team, something Mr. Melvin has already denied.
