Where do you watch away games (Milwaukee Area Residents)?

ewizabeff
Where do you go to watch away games, if it's not in the comfort of your own home? I went to a bar today but there weren't that many people there, and the ones that were there weren't very friendly. Any advice? I live in Milwaukee, near the East Side.

I didn't stay on the Eastside....I went to Bar Louie at Bayshore b/c it was near where my friend had class...the bartenders were great but the fans weren't

Bayshore's Bar Louie sucks. Bar Louie is generally only good for their dollar burgers on Tuesday nights. Mmm... burgers. Yeah - that and dealing with college frat boys that left McGillicuddy's and wandered north on Water.

The BBC on the east side (north and farwell), I frequent there quite often.

Also, BW3's downtown is where I went today. Had some wings, had a beer. Fun times.

I was at BW3's downtown today. There was a decent crowd that was pretty into the game.

I like BBC too, as well as any bar on Bluemound near the stadium.

Thurman's off of Brady is cool if you are a hippie and like the Brewers.

Some places I plan on checking out this season: Fanatics, Zim's, Hooligan's, Bar Louie downtown, maybe a few more right on or off of Water St. I'm always looking for new places to check out though.

I know this is Mr. Obvious talking, but unless the Brewers are right in the thick of contention, you will be hard-pressed to find more than a handful of Brewers fans together at a bar in Milwaukee.

Sometimes I like nothing more than watching the Brewers from the comfort of my own couch at home. And other times I just need to be in the presence of other Brewers fans.

The bars on Bluemound by the stadium: Long Wong's, Kelly's Bleachers. Not exactly "playoff atmosphere", but that would be my go-to. Or maybe Colonel Hart's in downtown Tosa? I can't recall if I ever watched a Brewers game there or just other random baseball games.

And if Kelly's Bleachers is anything like last year, on Tuesday nights they have Country Line Dancing. Watch a Brewers game and then go line dancing. What could possibly be better?

Personally, I'm still not coordinated enough to do the Electric Slide and I've been to about 20 weddings, so line dancing isn't exactly my thing.

BBC redid their interior and added about... oh... 12 (?) HD tv's all around the bar.

Kelly's on Bluemound (and the other Bluemound bars), Leff's (right by my appt) are where I most frequently visit.

I also make it to Fridays in Brookfield, Club Paragon and Hwy 100 regularly, and occasionally make it down to Marquette Bars or Fanatics...

Club Paragon is probably my favorite for a sporting event, they have a lot of (big) TVs and a lot of places to sit. They are usually good about having the sound on too, I like to listen to the game not bar music.

I usually either go there or bars on Bluemound. But, I'm like some of you where staying in and maybe grilling out or having a few beers with some friends at home is my favorite option.

When did they do that? And are they HD Feeds though? Nothing more then I hate then LCD HD TVs with SD Stretched source.

Yes, they have the HD feeds. They redid it, maybe 2-3 weeks ago now, before march madness started.

I'll watch football at a bar but for some reason watching baseball doesn't appeal to me. The only way I'd do it is if it was the Brewers in the playoffs and it was an away game or if it was at home and I couldn't get tickets for some reason. Then I'd watch at one of the bars on Bluemound.

I generally watch away games at home so I can be in the chat room (yes, I know I'm a dork).

However, once a month we've (brewerfan) tried to get together to watch an away game at Long Wong's. I like it quite a bit... We're going to have to re-institute the monthly brewerfan.net game watchings...

I think it's kinda funny that I've probably been in a place like Kelly's during a Brewer game and seen several of you and even cheered with you, not knowing that I indirectly converse with you on a weekely basis here on BF.net

I try and mix it up between "sports bars" and quieter places where you can really concentrate on the game. Kelly's or Wong's are both good for the first type, a place Fresche's Italian restraunt downtown is a bit of a good quiet destination.
