Cures for a squeeky dryer?

aracko

So I am home today from work and decided to do a load of wash. My wife always complains about the dryer squeeking but I never really paid it any attention. Well this thing really squeeks bad. Does anyone have a cure for this?

What we did to ours is yank the whole thing apart and vacuum it. Odds are you'll see dust balls the size of marbles collected in the back among the drive works. Use the smallest attachment you can find (or rig up) to get in to some small spots. This should do it, but if it fails you may want to try a new belt. Good luck!

EDIT: too tired to type correctly and coherently.

I have checked the belt, greased the drum and cleaned it out and its still squeeking. The Level says its good. The way I look at it is we have 3 kids and do massive amounts of wash. I think I am going to look for the most energy effecient electric dryer on the market and make an investment.

check and make sure it is level. If they are alittle bit out of level the rotation will cause it to shake and possibly squeek.

i have this problem with my washer and leveling it solves the problem. for some reason the washer wont stay in one place though.
